Anyone not so excited for 2.2 and the future of this game?

FFXIV release date was over 40 months ago...

To be fair, this is one of those situations where perception overshadows reality. To someone who played 1.0, it may feel like all ARR did was dismantle it, and success is long overdue. The majority of players now are fresh; they did not play 1.0 (that includes me). Not only was ARR marketed as a new (or so revised that it may as well be new) game, to many of us, it is a new game - whether or not it's unique compared to other MMOs is a different issue.

So again, as much as you 1.0ers hate hearing this, I think we should give ARR the benefit of the doubt for at least another patch. SE has pretty much used up their one and only excuse/chance on 2.1 with CT not being ready for launch and housing being a flop.

I think the Jury is out on XIV and the judge is just considering how severe the sentence should be. They've had enough time to demonstrate their vision for the game. We all get it. Its Super Mario content.

If that's how you feel, then you're entitled to your opinion and I'll respect it. As for me, this is how I view things:



What we have is 2.0 and 2.1 (black). That alone isn't enough to give us a clear idea of where the game is going. If patch 2.2 turns out to be a flop, then we have a clear negative trend. If patch 2.2 turns out to be great, then we have a clear positive trend. Either outcome is reliant on 2.2. But again, you don't have to agree with me, just sharing why I believe waiting it out for just a bit longer is the most cautious decision.

Probably because 99% of people get bored with doing the same thing over and over again and demand new and fresh stuff to experience.

Maybe you should realize you're one in a million people. While your opinion is justified, the more dominante group will control how it turns out. There are more casuals in the game than hardcore. The game just 'released' not to long ago as well. What MMO have you played was perfect at its launch?

If you aren't willing to give it time to develope and actually see what direction they are heading, there's the door!

When I see botters bought a medium house. I feel so half hearted to continue this game. No matter how good your game is you can't clear those shiit botters. Maybe a soon good bye.

I know people are probably sick of hearing this, but I think we need to give it some time. With 2.1 having been a backwards patch, I don't think it's fair to judge until 2.2 or even 2.3. But 2.2 will give us a pretty clear idea of what they're envisioning and we'll definitely know where the game is headed by 2.3.

Haven't MMORPG's been around long enough to invalidate this excuse? It's not like they didn't know what they were getting into and this is a complete remake of the first game.

They have almost 12 years experience with XI, and almost 4 years experience with XIV.
If this is honestly the best they could do... ugh..

im here since 1.0, and the game turned to be tasteless

2.1 were meant to be a "major" patch, well im scared to see other minor patch coming...
