1v1 PVP

What are your thoughts on 1v1 PVP. It worked in FFXI and other MMO's. Do you think it would work in FFXIV ? Im sure SE could implement different tiers and pvp skills to prevent class unbalances.

Even thought PvP apparently sucks, they should at least add dueling. No need for balancing. Just pure pwning your friends haha.

As long as it's done through the DF I don't care. I don't want people spamming me with duel requests every 10 seconds.

lol yea. FFXIV has some ways to go but I think in time it will be more fun. As long as they keep tweaking it to balanced it via PvP skills and make One 1v1 based on gear level, I think it will work. They could also implement a ranking systems to track how good you are and put you up against players at your level.

Yea I dont want that. PVP should be only in the arena. Was annoying in WoW where you were doing a quest and someone just comes and kills you just to be a douche.

Well you didn't have to play on a PvP server if you didn't want to get it in the butt while doing a quest. It was fun during vanilla when a level 60 paladin came at me and my friend and we would stun him and run for our lives (didn't have mounts since we weren't 40) and he would chase us down haha. I hid under a bridge while i watched my friend die. Good old times.

It'd require massive changes from the current PVP system which is not that great as it is lol
