I suppose this means there's nothing to tell yet.
That being the case I hope you'll make the housing a meaningful gameplay element and not just a visual treat like the FC houses. The crafting buff is a nice attempt but means nothing next to leve xp.

Remember, a very short time before announcing the FC pricing, they said 3 people going from lvl1 to 50 will make enough gil to buy a FC house. That was a flat out lie and I don't believe them for a second when they say that personal housing will be cheap. That 2 million isn't affordable to you boggles my mind. Even on a non legacy server it is neither hard nor time consuming to make 2 million gil. There are numerous ways to make gil in this game, but if you choose not to use any of them then you probably shouldn't complain about being poor either.

one thing that would help immensely is to have each plot of land the same size, even while it woudl take some extra work to do i believe this would be best for several reasons, the land itself would be cheap to get and that would allow everyone to get a place for the house, the houses themselves would be more expensive but no matter what happens you would still be able to upgrade your house to a bigger size because the land itself would be capable of it. The only other option i see would be to have the lands themselves in seperate instances but that is a bit much concidering the rumored issues with the FC housing and such.

They really do need to make housing the hole in the wall and you start with a shack. But you can eventually work to do a series of upgrades for increasing amounts of gil. This way your house can transfer with you if ever need be. We have the FC houses for neighborhoods, doesn't really need to be for personal too. Maybe have a tiny patch of land your house sits on, but most likely it'd only be inside.

Here's my speculation with personal housing:

Small - 300,000 gil. Uses same small building as FC houses.

Medium - 800,000 gil. Similar to FC housing's medium except no basement

Large - 2,000,000 gil. Again, no basement. Same model as an FC house.

Of course I could be wrong on medium and large. SE have players and FC's using the same house models, which I'd be okay with honestly. Though I think personal housing should have its own unique models at least.

I don't know why that price feels low to me. o.O Considering the way they've priced FC housing, I am expecting large to be least 5 mil gil and small to be somewhere around the 1 mil mark or slightly less. Gil is easy to make if you do all the roulettes once everyday, do treasure hunting at least once a dayand do beast tribe dailies.
