I'll never understand why you people white knight like that over bad design.
There's nothing challenging about sitting around with your thumb up your ass waiting for 30+ min to do a stupid fight that takes 5 min or less.

I don't understand why you people cry like spoiled little children when you have to wait an additional few minutes to complete otherwise inconsequencial content.
Challenge? When has challenge had anything to do with questing in this game? As late as level 45, you're still running "talk to this NPC across the map, then return to me, then return to the NPC, then return to me" quests. There is nothing challenging about those, but they litter the back half of the game. Maybe SE should erase all of those? Or maybe they need to make the world smaller so you don't have to spend 3 minutes running from one portion of the map to another, since it's such a huge inconvenience.
So, 5 out of the 6 quests are incredibly easy and you can complete them in a few minutes. One occasionally takes longer. That isn't "bad game design", it's the same exact thing for everyone. It's not like a certain segement of the population can't expereince the concent due to a design issue. Everyone can complete it, everyone has the same "luck of the draw" aspect stacked against them. It's not broken. I personally had to wait around for 7-10 minutes the other day to complete the Magitek quest. Big deal, while I was waiting I went through my mail and picked up some toys my daughter left on the floor.
Good grief, of all the things that are actually broken in this game, why waste SE's time and resources to fix something that isn't broken... but you find inconvenient because you're impatient?
Can't wait for a thread where people ask that SE nerf Odin.
It would probably go something like this, "Um, derr, Mr. or Mrs. SE, pls make Odin spawn every 5 minutes, and make him drop ilvl 100 stuff, and make him solo-able because I'm sick of trying to get people to show up to help me kill him. It's poor design that I waited all day for him and when he appeared he killed me, if you don't do this I'm going to leave and go to another game, kthnx!"

First time I did one, waited 45 mins for it to appear. Took a few seconds away from the screen to see if any new posts were on facebook, looked back at the game and the FATE had appeared and was at 50% because a hundred FATE farmers were slaughtering it. It ended before I could even pull out a weapon. Apparently it was over in less than 20 seconds.
In fact all 6 quests are easy. Nobody said the FATE is hard. But it is freaking annoying. If you need to wait 10 times longer for a quest to start than it actually takes to fulfull it, then, in my book it IS bad Game design. And telling people to be patient and that everybody is on the same boat is no solution because in this particular case, there is just no need for waiting and hopefully SE takes some of the criticism into future quest design considerations. Since they plan to add more tribe quests, I really hope they use the feedback they got at their 1st attempt and don't repeat some of the weak design decisions they made.
FATES in the open World are cool and if you want to level with FATES, waiting for them to spawn is the way to go and goes with the concept flow. But content/quests should wait for the player and not the other way around. To add to this, FATES are very inconsistent. Some of the FATES you need for quests spawn endlessly like the Hildibrand FATE in Southern Thanalan for example. Why are some spawning so often while others need 30 minutes+?
I had to wait 25 minutes to complete Cape Westwind (which took about 3-4 minutes to defeat)... I guess the main story is horribly designed as well?
Should I petetion SE to just fill my party with ilvl 90 bots whenever there aren't enough people in duty finder?
God forbid I have to wait a few minutes to complete content in an MMOPG.
Look, if dailies were needed to progress towards addtiional content in the game, I'd agree with you. They are a small little side thing to do on a daily basis though... if you see that one quest is going to take longer than others, just scrap it, do other stuff, and go back to dailies the next day.
SE has way more important things to fix at this point in time. This isn't even broken.

lol spoiled children? additonal few minutes?
Last i checked a few means 2-3, not 30+. And don't begin to lecture me on being spoiled. Arbitrary time sinks are nothing more than a nuisance. They don't really impede progress, only annoy players.
You're probably one of those massochits who thought 24-hour+ spawns with 3+ hour windows were a great thing.
There, I fixed it for you.
Anyone who is losing sleep/raging over not being able to complete a stupid daily because it wasn't popped when they logged in, is spoiled.
Either wait for it to pop, or abandon the quest/be on your way/do something else.
No one is forcing you to complete the dailies every day. If you want to sit around for 30 minutes to do them, more power to you. If you don't, don't.
I'm not a massochits (you probably meant to say that I'm probably a masochistic person... which I'm also not), I'm still at level 1 on the dailies. I play this game when everything else in my life is taken care of (all the bills are paid, wife is happy, daughter is happy, house is clean, all my workouts/training are done)... I've come to the realization that I don't need to max everything every day to achieve happiness in game/life.
Maybe you should adopt the same philosophy... rather than raging at the developers any time you can't accomplish something within 3 minutes of logging in?
Again, I'd get it if the FATEs never spawned and no one could do it (that would be a problem). The fact that they do spawn, and that FATE's, in general, are a random thing... leads me to think that the problem isn't on SE's side, but your own. Because, agian, you're impatient.
Either wait for them to spawn, or don't do them. You have a choice.
Nothing is broken on SE's end. FATE's in general are random, they spawn at different times, these FATE's follow the same pattern as other FATE's... I don't understand the complaining. What's next, people complaining about having to wait 20 minutes to get the "Full Remission" achievement because Cancer wasn't persistantly re-spawning after it was killed?

I think if it were up to people with mentality like yours, a game would never improve, would have sh1t for "quality of life" and would never be able to compete with the mordern-day MMORPG's out there.
The different between mild tedium and absolutely stupid amounts of tedium is vast, and unfortunately you are too dense to understand the difference.
Dailies are not optional for some people. There are people with very busy schedules, who don't play the game from a raiding prospective, and log in to do certain "tasks" that they can accomplish in "X" amount of time. These could range from crafting to getting rep with certain factions.
The subset of people who do this(I don't l, but I know a lot of people do), is large. They are not demanding new game mechanics, they are not asking for some fight to be made easier to nerf to anything. They are simple asking for a daily task, that they have "X" time to perform to be available in an acceptable "stretch" of time.
Luckily even the devs disagree with the philosophy of yours and are changing the spawn rate.
Cheers-
Minty

I play before heading to work.
I have 35 minutes or so to play.
I need to fit the dailies in the period.
FATE daily impedes this, sometimes (as it's sometime up in due time).
Players are players. Players that can't raid need to have their content to play. Dailies are that. Things you do daily, fast, and for low rewards. Eventually they are worth something in the long run.
You shouldn't be stumped on dailies due to waiting for something to happen. It wrings the fun out. It breaks the rhythm.
Game constantly evolves, so I wouldn't be surprise if we get certain items to "pop" the FATE for the daily in the future.
For now though, we gotta do with this poorer implementation.
wow Tarta
so man
such big
wow
much scarry
Haha, wow, okay then.
Dailies are not optional... I thought I had heard everything.
I have a tremendously busy schedule. You know what happens when my schedule gets in the way? I don't log in to complete stupid dailies. Problem solved.
And what is this nonsense talk about "never being able to complete the content?"... you can still do 2/3 of the dailies (if you don't want to wait for the FATE) and progress towards end rank. No progress is being impeeded! God forbid you complete 5 out of 6 quests and abandon the last because you can't wait around for the FATE.
Is it really "lucky" that the devs disagree with me and want to make everything easier?
No, you don't need to do them.
Good grief, I'm gonna back out now because apparently there's no getting through to some of you.
