How would people feel about a bestiary?

If we are to get a bestiary I'd rather have it come with an expansion rather than a patch, to do it properly they would need to pour a great deal of time and effort into it. The original suggestion and dev responses were about "Thinking about it" for 2.0 launch.

Hell if they could even manage to make it detailed like the fishing log that would be great, I'd love to see something with substance and meaning put into the game to do with lore but SE seems to lately run very counter to that stance.

Actually, I'm calling it now. If the bestiary comes, it'll come with Blue Mage.

It most likely will appear once we get Ishgard in 1st expansion if this system is implemented since a NPC does mention there is a group of Beast Tamers in Ishgard but I forget which NPC.

or those Beast Tamers could just be a hint for Beastmaster trainer but we will see once we get into Ishgard or near Ishgard since they can most likely release bits and pieces of Ishgard's area through major updates for Main Story Scenario use as we get closer to the 1st Expansion and the opening of Ishgard's Gates to outsiders.

I don't know how that would work with SE's stance on how obtaining skill/straits works... I imagine the most we'll get is- verytime we unlock a beast skill it has us fight a mob then learn there attacks in a more scripted fashion.

It's an interesting idea, and I like it (I rather enjoy the hunting log & this would be a great addition/expansion of it), but we all know that the majority of players (you know the ones that don't come to forums at all) won't even give a rat's posterior about it.
