Seems counter intuitive to me. New players would probably not know about PF, as nothing in game points it out, and DF is right there. I'd say the opposite should be true.
Is this a surprise? Most new players use Duty Finder to learn new fights, and/or watching videos on YouTube. Some players will have the confidence after watching a video once to join experienced groups and not waste their time with a 'learning' group.
Party Finder is local to your server, so of course you will have a harder time filling up, especially when there are two other groups more advanced than yours seeking members.
Not sure what the point of this thread is.
One would think. Apparently, the elitists think otherwise.
Point is that people need to stop spouting this garbage whenever someone complains about DF.
I think thats pretty bad, been elitists towards the new blood might scare them off - remember we need new players for this game since so many Lv50s keep "quiting" (or say they are), if subs falls they might downgrade the development priority of FFXIV
I dont mind guding the n00bs through the first few dungeons, we were all in their shoes once.
The best way to learn a fight is still by forming a party on your server, usually through the use of Party Finder and linkshells, so that each member can be held accountable while you're making progression. Your screenshot does not refute that. If you have problems filling your group, then that is YOUR problem, and speaks to your inability to socialize and 'play' an MMO. Put in some work and actively search for those people yourself instead of just setting up a Party Finder group and waiting for a miracle. You just have to accept that you're already in the minority, because most people would simply rather watch a video or use Duty Finder instead of looking bad in a local server group.
Bah this is way I wont even touch endgame (even with FC), nobody wants to pay it toward and expect everyone to know all the content. Remember 2.1 day one? " LFG garuda ex EXP players only" wtf?
I think the problem has more to do with the fact that people are generally lazy and just want to get carried through a fight. Majority of the time, the people that join those "Not a learning party" groups in fact have little to no experience with the fight and are hoping that the rest of the party will be elite enough to just carry them through.
The learning parties fill up more slowly because there are far less people that are willing to actually put in effort to accomplish anything these days.
I'm actually tempted to just lie, tell the group I've done it what must be hundreds of times, then get in there and wing it. It's probably what I will do the closer I get to my sub running out.I think the problem has more to do with the fact that people are generally lazy and just want to get carried through a fight.
