LOL, what great memories Mystic Quest brings to my mind. It was such a flawed and lovable game!
I would support a reference, but I think there's still a lot of untapped material from the official FF titles that will make it in before that.

Probably true. Any sort of Final Fantasy VII reference would probably draw a huge crowd of players to the game (provided they advertize it well in advance, of course), and I could really see some stuff from Tactics really fitting in well, too. Heck, even FFX has some interesting stuff to tap into (who wouldn't love to see Anima as a boss?).
Still, something about Mystic Quest also resonated with me. Like I said, it's probably just pure nostalgia, but it would definitely be awesome to see the cast re-envisioned to appear in ARR ^_^

If they add a Mystic Quest boss, I hope they use the "Boss battle theme." (I didn't particularly love the game, but the music has stuck with me all these years.)

There should be a Mystic Quest themed dungeon. Trash mobs we'll have the regular battle theme playing, the first 2 or 3 bosses will be the boss battle theme, and the last boss shall be the Dark King's battle theme (possibly with the Dark King himself!)
I would be SO okay with a Mystic Quest-themed dungeon!!! Do the Tower of Doom; it was basically a greatest-hits version of the entire game, anyways, and had probably the best music outside of Battle (save for the Lava Dome... man, such good music!).
Actually, having thought about it more, I'm thinking the "Bone Dungeon" would make a really good dungeon. The quicksand-and-bones theme would look totally unique, and could fit really nicely somewhere outside of Ul'dah. Even as just a shorter dungeon, hearing a few of that game's incredible Battle/Boss themes redone would be SOOOOO cool!!!
Plus, like I said; it would be awesome to see Benjamin brought to life in Eorzea, as either a wise-cracking wannabe, or some super-powerful swordsman. And honestly, I always thought he looked really cool on the NA box-art, anyways!![]()
