I agree with the OP completely. The value I get for this game is insane, and the money saved not playing other games has been sizable. This is one reason why MMOs are great. So cost effective.

Every one sees value differently and therefore OP is partially correct. The game is a great value. To me. And to OP it seems.
But it's the same way that I think a $500 tattoo is a waste of money and don't see the value in it where some people are covered in them.
To each their own so really you can't say the OP is wrong, he's just not wholly correct.
He is however correct in stating that the value you get is better than most other forms of entertainment though.
If you have played the game for more than 2 hours, by movie theater standards, you probably got a fair deal.
Whether you enjoyed it is a different story. I can pay $12 for a movie ticket and not like a movie.
The value customers receive is equal to the benefits of a product or service minus its costs. The costs for Final Fantasy obviously being the box game, the sub and your time. So it really comes down to how much is your time worth? Satisfied customers that perceive a lot of value in an offering are usually willing to pay more, while unsatisfied customers will leave, even at a low price.

Thank you for the kind and semi-supportive words. I like your last point very much, that whether or not you enjoyed it is a completely different story.
In addition to my OP, I'd also say that if you don't want to consume this product because you don't enjoy it - then don't. My post isn't about the people that are dissatisfied with the product, its with those who are expecting a large amount of content for a small price.
There will be a large amount of content, in time. I've stated this in other threads, and forums, people just expect a new game to have the same amount of content as an MMO that's been out significantly longer.

I don't judge actual games by the cost. That can vary and has nothing to do with the actual game itself.
I judge them by what's actually inside. So far, it ain't exactly meeting my expectations quite yet.
Dear OP, It takes me one day to complete everything I need to do for the week. EM Primals? 1 hour Coil 1-5? 1 hour CT loot? Less than a hour. So about 4 hours to complete everything.
Tell me again how I'm getting a bang for my buck, when the game doesn't want me to actually want me to progress due to the constant lockouts, restrictions, tome caps.
I understand the OP is trolling because he obviously doesn't believe people will stop complaining because he said so.

And that's where value comes in. Cost and value are different. If you don't see value in something, you don't have to pay for it. Cost refers to what you give up to get value, in this case time and money. Either pay less time or don't pay money and you won't have to worry about feeling shafted out of value.
When people feel they are not getting value, they complain. Square can only do so much but as the game stands, for most people, the value for cost is there.
OP is not wrong, your perception of value is just different. If you don't feel like you are getting enough value for what you are paying for the game (four hours per week and $10-12/month) then stop paying the cost.Dear OP, It takes me one day to complete everything I need to do for the week. Typically in most industries, if you are not happy with the value you are getting for paying for a service (cell phone, cable, ISP) you switch providers or drop the service.
For example, I see value in my cable TV package at $40/month even though I watch TV less than I play ARR. However whenever they try to raise the price I threaten cancellation so they let me keep my promo package price. I don't see value in keeping cable TV if I am paying more than that. I am not getting the perceived value I want.
Gaming is a different beast though and rather than drop the service people tend to complain a lot more. It's just the way things are.

Deriving a subjective value based on cost and time invested is completely logical. I like the op, +1 and well said.
What's not logical is not understanding that most, not all, but most of the mean spirited complaints about this game are from kids with too much free time on their hands and no real life experience in dealing with purchasing products (with their OWN money) that are shoddy and not worth the capital investment.
Are there some problems that should be addressed? Yes. However, some of those problems are grossly exaggerated because that's what kids do.

The thing is... It's ok to complain if certain aspects of the game do not suit your expectations/desires/requirements/etc. It's how you do it that matters.
If people did not voice their opinions/complaints and (for instance) just left, we might not even had the chance to play ARR. They wouldn't (for instance) have changed the delay on the position check. Etc.
The thing I "can't stand" is the lack of respect towards players, designers and developers alike. Yes, you can voice your opinion/complaint. We know you might get pissed about something. But that doesn't mean it's ok to insult people and toss them aside like rotten fish.
The game can only improved upon if we all make known what and/or how things could be improved. Throw your ideas into the group and talk/discuss about it.
The dev team reads our feedback and uses it to envision how they feel the game should be. Who knows. They might like your idea or agree with the complaint.
(sorry for the long post.)

I like you OP you make a lot of sense. Haters gonna hate. Trollers gonna troll.
