yet we are still getting rehashed designs aside from the initial af for all classes and two new sets of leveling gear. the gear design is lazy allagan looks similar. onion and ballad pretty much are carbon copies.

well played good sir well played :3
What annoys me personally as a Miqo'te is seeing my tail clip through nearly all my armor when I run. This didn't happen in 1.0 and I find it so ugly that when they finally add an additional means of obtaining fantasia I plan to go midlander.
if SE did that you would have a lot of people mad they cant run the game on there pentium 4. reason they made robotic animations vs version 1's realistic.
To be fair we had the same clipping issues from the start of 1.0 (I remember the haubergeon and sollerets combination in particular) and the way to fix it is still the same: turn off the physics and it won't clip anymore. And the equip reforming thing as far as i remember was used to modify the single piece according to the other things equipped (sleeves + gloves, pants + boots) and it should still be in place... or at least we get the same result with whatever they're using.
What I find annoying is when design choices are made ignoring the obvious clipping... take WHM artifact for instance, you know that job is gonna have either a staff or a shield on its back, then why would you add that huge hood that's clipping with every weapon a WHM can wear? .-.
Why people keep bringing this up? You don't need to go that far back, you just need a cheap one. Anyway... Not a huge reason though, they went overboard, this runs on anything. My five years old pc runs this on high with good fps. Like 60 stable for the most part. Anyway...
Now you're just being funny.... I guess you're misunderstanding what a cheap computer is. And this game requires about 4gb of ram (taking into account the OS)... You'll have just about 500mb spare or a bit less maybe.
Video cards and processors are what would hinder the game potential more than ram. Wow this is just not worth arguing.
Also on a side note, belts not being displayed don't have anything to do with this. Not directly anyway, maybe they did remove em to avoid further clipping but still, and in wow belts are whatever, they don't even have shape they are just a pasted skin on top of your armor.
And yes, they should have more options where you can disable the advanced graphic engines and such. But well, they won't add this, not any time soon anyway. Doubt the PS4 and Dx11 is it? version is bringing this.
Thank you!Incorrect, FFXI has less clipping overall than XIV and that was a PS2 game. Ever since Yoshi took over he started changing how the graphics were handled by taking out collision detection and adding insane amount of clipping. PS3 isn't exactly a weak system.
They stated the way graphics work in this game is so they can pump out gear easier and faster.
The clipping in this game is awful and the cause is they just don't want to take the time to fix it or design carefully in the first place. Nothing more complicated than that.

The shield clipping through my AF BLM hat bugged me a lot. I was really happy when I got a better shield that was also small enough not to clip.
There's a lot of stuff that clips in this game and it looks really sloppy. Some off the top of my head:
1. When I unsheathe my Ullikummi on Carpenter it magically teleports from my back to my waist because they treat it like it's just another saw
2. When I unsheathe a staff on WHM instead of making my character grab it backhand and shifting his arm to bring it forward, he instead grabs it backhand and the staff phases through my arm to end up at the front
3. Artemis Bow constantly clips through my shirt on BRD
4. Lots of weapons clip through a hat when sheathed (as seen above)
The last two points really irk me because while I understand limited clipping when stuff is animating or maybe a little bit of clipping into edges, weapons and armor clipping through each other while you stand still is just...lazy. Even in XI they bothered to have a program that stuck every piece of armor on a model so they could make sure stuff clipped as little as possible. Here it just feels like they don't care that much at all. I imagine i'd be even more annoyed if I played Miqote since the tail probably clips through everything as well.
