    Hvinire can you relay to the team precisely how insulting this sort of response is to the player base?

    We do the math with our stats and we know how to observe and extrapolate the tiers and formulas for how stats work and at what rates we will see changes in those effects. The point - it's a waste of a player's time and effort to do so when the exact change could simple be displayed in our character menu.

    For instance - Strength changes the amount of damage blocked/parried when you successfully block/parry and the damage reduction percentage is a static value. To see that value I have to go outside and get attacked and proc a block/parry to see it. People have already tested point for point what the effective change is - and saying "as the stats that affect this grow larger, the effect will become greater" is untrue when your system has hard tiers where you literally will not see a difference in the effect until you reach a certain goal number. Add the percentages we're asking for in the character menu. It's not a complicated request!

    Sorry if I sound harsh but I don't like being lied to and having my concerns trivialized.

    Thanks for our response Hvinire. I hope you can relay to the devs that *simply assuming stats grow larger* isn't helpful to players trying to achieve gear best for them. It is not just chance for crit hits we are talking about, but all stats, such as parry, block, skill speed = how much GCD?, etc. In deciding for instance, whether that 5 VIT is worth the exchange of 1% parry. It is important to all classes, and especially theorycrafting on all classes, as most of our talk is on guesstimates because of the current system.

    nothing about the music? at this point I've heard the battle theme so many times that I actively despise that piece of music now.

    And I'm reminded of that fact every time I hear the brief zone/dungeon music, which only makes me hate the battle theme even more, it's like having a mp3 player full of great music that refuses to play anything other than "it's a small world".

    Repeatedly.

    Forever and ever.

    Even after you're reduced to a shell of a man, curled up in fetal position in the corner while mumbling pleas for it to end.

    ...even if you know it won't.

    The team is currently looking into an option to "skip all" cutscenes. The team has also been looking into a better incorporation of Chocobo Companions including allowing you to register for Duty Finder while having your companion out, as well as riding your companion while he's called. While the timing for these hasn't been decided we'll keep you aware when we hear more.
    You've got to be kidding me. I've waited for the chocobo companion change since release. What the hell is taking so long. I was actually hoping the change would be part of 2.15. Yay for 2 more months of useless chocobos. Fantastic implementation.

    Please, Devs/Community Rep, I urge you to look again at the full list that the OP posted in this thread. With the exception of the first entry, they are all MAJOR problems, and the first one is still a major concern that should be addressed.

    1. This is not FFXI, combat stats should not be transparent.
    2. I have literally never repaired my own gear, despite always having dark matter and the ability to do so. There is NO reason to repair gear, it is such an inconvenience that whatever negligible amount of gil is saved is worthless.
    3. UI/Chat/Party restrictions: We have been clamoring about this since the first alpha test. This. Is. BAD. PLEASE DO NOT RESTRICT TELLS IN DUTIES.

    4. I like the changes that were just posted re: companions, but adjusting the least important problem does NOT mean it's OK to ignore problems in the rest of the game.
    5. The music is so good! Give us the option to not have battle music please! I want to hear area music everywhere! The poor siren's song got the shaft in pharos sirius.
    6. The cut scene skip option should include dungeon and trial entry cut scenes.

    This is an interesting thread. In all honesty. I used to chastise my friends who would state that the music in WoW was better than FFXI. Today I finally realize why Blizz opted to not have overt themes and music play for battle and in dungeons. Humans naturally build a resistance to things that they are consistently exposed. This is a clear example of people loving the music on release, but hating it (at least stating that they hate it) about 4 months into the game.

    Why do you think most players who record games just listen to their own music?

    It would up production costs considerably if Se were to shift efforts to making a music rotation that satisfied the need of payers to not hear the same theme over and over. I would encourage those who dislike the music to turn it all off and turn on pandora. Screw immersion at this point. we are playing an mmo, there will be elements that will become highly repetitive.

    As far as the stat thing, I am in the middle. I, as a core player, don't care to test the stats and stat changes due to gear myself. However, I love reading studies that others have done to prove what effect certain stat changes will have. In 1.0 most moves had stat modifiers. So a MNK would spend a bit in DEX for one or two particular moves.
