From an extreme point of of, if people had no voice against a government we'd end like like Sadaam Hussein era Iraq or current North Korea. Being forced to stay quiet despite an horrible environment.

Or imagine a car company who put fault cars on the road that killed thousand per year due to defects. Yet we should not rise up against them because they have hard working millionaires.

This game is going down hill fast and people notice it. They pay money so the deserve a quality game.

It all starts from the top down. No matter how hard devs work, they still have to work hard for the producer.

I was a fool to sub for so long. I'm stuck here til my sub runs out sadly. hopefully i get my money's wroth.

you've never used example in your like to prove a point? I even pointed out at the beginning it was an extreme point of view.

Have you ever had a product or a food product you did not like? And felt it was not worth you money? If you have then why dont you become a cook/chef, or design your own product.

Let alone to do this you need investors, or a brand new bachelors degree in computer engineering.

Sadly in ff14 we cant ask for a refund, but we can let them know what we don't like and like many people here they are making suggestions on whats not good. Is not that similar to asking for something else? And as the chef/cook its their job to figure out what patrolns need. Just like at starbucks for 1st timers. They don't know what they want, they go inside asking for something sweet and milky. The barista should discern what they want. They are paying customers.

I agree, though the best way to gauge a community's opinion would be through in-game polling. Forum-goers are a minority and civil discussion is, unfortunately, few and far between. There's a reason why forums tend to ripen up during maintenances. Why take the time to go on a website, sign in, pick your main character, and go knee-deep in a social sewage-pile when you could instantly talk with your friends and guildmates while actually playing the game?

I'm sure people would love to create the perfect game for themselves if they could. Problem is that it requires expertise (which can be "easily" gained with time) and then some more time to actually code the stuff into something workable. As we all know, time is a finite (and valuable) thing in our lives. Thus we have to settle with something that gets as close to the perfection we desire. But things are rarely so perfect, so instead of just jumping ship immediately, we stick around for a while and try to give suggestions on what would improve the game for ourselves. As you can see from the forums, everyone has widely differing ideas on what constitutes perfect class balance and what position craftsman should actually hold in MMO society. Some are polite, some are slightly lacking in that area. And it's only good that people speak up. Like Ghostcrawler said before he left Blizzard, he'd still prefer the angry and passionate players, rather than the ones who simply remain silent and apathetic (and seemingly happy). I'm sure a lot of people agree with him, though I'm sure I'll be chased by the pitchforks for mentioning WoW now.

However, I will agree that constructive criticism is far more preferable than just dumb raging. There's still a difference between "l0l Yoshi-P ur geim suxx0r so hard i played checkers wit ur mum yesterday DDDDDDD" and "Oi, sucker, give me my group content outside of instances, you miserable cur!", even if they're both distinctly lacking in tact. One wishes everyone could be civil at all times and remain composed through frustration with game mechanics, but I suppose it's just human nature that we have to deal with in the end.
