Why I stopped paying for FFXIV

Latency. That's why. I geared up and decided to attempt HMs and did I fail hard. But I wasn't failing the strategy I was failing running out of bad stuff. Particularly plumes and landslide that I have the most trouble with. Even with sprint on every CD and WTFast I still can't dodge them. And the most annoying thing is that latency is worse when I'm in HMs for some reason. Needless to say, any further progression, such as getting my relic, for example, is just not possible for me. To make the matter even more obvious I got into playing the beta of another Japanese MMO, which is f2p btw, and I can dodge stuff there just fine! So I thought to myself no way I'm paying the money for the game with such terrible latency issues when I could play FREE games without those issues. So that being said I am forced to leave Eorzea but I will be happy to come back if the latency problem gets fixed! NO offense to you personally, but why are we constantly subjected to the why I am quitting threads? Do you want us to fix your latency issues? How are you playing the game? What is your internet connection speed? Are you wired in or wireless? Personally, I am on a PS3 currently, on a not very fast DSL connection, and have 0 issues with latency. I mean, there is once and a while a server lag spike, but that is expected.

I agree with this. Forums aren't there for people to be all hand holding and spreading fuffy butterflies everywhere. They are for discussing things, good or negative (mostly negative). Has been ever since forums existed in ancient times. Lol. I guess a few people don't understand what forum means.

that video perfectly explains how the general consensus on "i quit and here is my life story" thread. in the end of the day, you quitting isnt that important. next week after this thread is locked and stash away, no one will remember the OP. if lag is such a huge issue that you have to unsub, then do it and just go. SE is aware that the server are lagging quite hard. i sure they are more aware of what is the actual issue than you are.

the only people that actually care about what you are saying is those with their own personal gripes with the game and want to your thread as a proxy to express their views.even then OP, they dont care about YOU, they care about having a way to make a complaint.

Why do we need "I quit" threads? what purpose do they really serve? SE can clearly see that 1 person hasn't paid when their subs decrease by 1.
