It is the same in real life. Those with better qualification will get to join a better company with better pay. It is also a respect to the rest of the team who want to progress, they did the same grinding just so they do not turn out to be a burden. So, if people can do it, why can't you?

And I call BS. Most elitists did not solo grind. They had their buddies carry them to get them up to snuff. Truth. I know this because I used to be an elitist player in several elitist guilds in other MMOs.

My intention wasn't particularly to bash people, nor was it out of malice. However, if someone lacks the experience, they don't understand all of the applications of their kit, and where it may shine the brightest. Doing an armory search of a few people in this thread, it seems that was the case. They have no clue how important pre-fight SS can be, and to spread misinformation that it almost always is near-useless, to the point where they don't even cast it is completely incorrect. This is not a matter of subjectivity. One method is and always will be superior to the other until content is on farm status. Even then, it should still be used, but I could see the argument taking a little more hold then.

I don't get it, Stoneskin is entirely a positive thing. to not use it, or worse, to bash people for using it is so contradicting it makes my head hurt. People complain about bad healers all the time, then when you have a healer doing something right, you bash him for it? Ugh...

I like you, really I do. I can't disagree with your sound, and tough-love style logic. Your issues would never be with me, anyway, because I typically "do it right." I guess we're debating for the sake of debating. But if the group sucks or refuses to do their part reasonably, don't expect me to spam 8x stoneskin before every wipe if it's not a game breaker.

I really do agree with this:
IE T2 you really do not need to recast stoneskin - before ADS yeah it can help but definitely not on the nodes before or at the very start of the turn. More than enough on the tanks (if at all).
It really comes down to know the fight.

If you are preparing it can't hurt to just throw it up. *shrug*.

It's a bit of a buffer for a WHM to not just have to blow all the load from the start and risk some weird enmity mixup. It's not really a problem but can happen with weak DF tanks or gear difference.

My PLD has Stoneskin and uses it on himself whenever it's apt to do so, long cast of an evil skill about to hit my face, cast Stoneskin, unless I'm doing something Flash heavy (three Aevis) so far I don't need that MP anyway (lvl 45). I did have to tell a WHM to stop spamming it on me during fights, conserve that MP, I'll cast it on myself thanks. I had one numbskull leave a party because he thought there was no way anyone should be using it but the healer.

Fact is, the WHM's one is stronger then yours. Same as protect, even if they're cross class only WHM has the trait to enhance them.
