    Open world is just that open world the issue at hand is everything is instanced. The open world should be full of danger and challenges not hand holding. Even the dungeons are patheticely easy. There is no reason to explore all players do is tele every where. There is nothing to do other than farm nodes. Lets add some open world content that isnt a free for all, open world content that challenges a player going from A to B. Hell at this point even nm or hnm would be more fun than just walking casual from point a to b cause nothing poses a threat or challenge.

    Nobody does anything out in the world because the open world is just a giant lobby to wait for dungeon pops and trade in tokens. They could really just keep Revenants Toll and scrap the rest of it.

    The problem is that the crowd will always follow the optimal EXP, it's not that most of those players loved FATES (Not saying people don't like them though) but that FATES were just the best option at the time. Now that Dungeons are viable people don't care anymore.

    Such a shame you really only get to enjoy it once, on your first job you level to 50 until you're out of quests.

    Many people are missing the point of this thread, they think I'm QQing because people can't fate grind to 50 anymore.

    While it's sad that fates are just no longer an option due to lack of people running them, I'm more concerned as to what the whole point of even having a game world outside of cities/towns when the devs basically killed it themselves. It makes no sense.

    I think players should be encouraged to go out and about in the game world not sit in town and just wait for dungeon queues. That's not a good MMORPG design, and I only say this because I actually enjoy the environment. I can see new players steered away because they think the game is dead when they're questing.

    That's because FF XIV is what people like to call a theme-park MMO. You move from attraction to attraction until you all end up in Mor'Dhona or some Inn Room aside from going into duty queue. It's sad but that's the way the game is. They didn't want this to be FF XI where you had to venture out into the world for NMs or any sort of content.

    Probably every world differs. Or maybe you are most active when majority of the players are actually not logged in because its not their prime time yet. If you would try to find out what the prime time of the majority, then I am sure you will see that there are still tons of people doing FATE and also dungeons now because practically in 2.1, both systems are already giving you the intended amount of gil and exp gained proportional to the time you spend in either of the system you participated.
