Like a mod for reducing the weapon glow on +1 weapons? I was thinking along the lines of a mod that adds runic scribbles that go up and down the sides of the weapons instead of just having a strait up glow.
No. Weak Auras is an addon in WoW that allows you to display ability cooldowns anywhere on your screen. So instead of staring at my bars to see when I get procs, I could put them where I'm more likely to see them. I'd love to be able to track things like Overcure procs, the CDs on some abilities (like Divine Seal and Benediction), and such, more easily. It also lets you see debuffs on yourself more easily - you can set up a Weak Aura to show a big icon of the debuff when you have it on you. I don't know about you, but my debuffs are tiiiiiny. -_-
The addon looks like this:
The little squares with like, the angel image and the fountains of light are from Weak Auras.
I kinda do something similar, but obviously less robust, already. I have some hotbars set up that I don't intend to ever use to actually trigger an action, but I have my cooldowns set up on them so I can keep track of them easier.
But I also play using a controller, so I don't know how viable this is for a mouse/keyboard person.
It's probably viable, but I really miss the customization I can do with my WoW UI. I just wanna be able to scale things the way I want to scale them, and make my raid frames the way I want to see them - preferably smaller, but still giving me all of the information I need. I find that I have to make my raid frames really big to see anything on them. It's kind of frustrating. They're just so...huge.I kinda do something similar, but obviously less robust, already. UI Modding, I hope! lol. If SE is smart, they'll harness the creative power of their fans and let us build a better UI for them for free. Are we talking about physically modding the game to it core (like adding new instances and stuff) or UI modding (which SE said may be there in the future)?
I enjoyed the WoW LUA api when I did some modding for QoS stuff. An advance bag sorter is something I'd probably work on. IE: Ores go into Page4, loot goes into page 3, etc.![]()
Only thing I worry about is if the game becomes too depended on battle mods. IE: When Lucifron turned into mashing the Decursive button to dispel his mass curse. Things like casting/using spells/abilities should not be given access (which Blizz deprecated in the TBC update). It's probably viable, but I really miss the customization I can do with my WoW UI. Blizz broke the crap out of mods that do that. There was the issue with that one mod that drew "in-world" during ICC in Wrath of the Lich King, but they broke that one, too (it really needed breaking...it just trivialized encounters -_-). That said, the ability to re-skin my UI, control what buffs and debuffs show on my party frames, and resize them...would be amazing.Only thing I worry about is if the game becomes too depended on battle mods. Indeed, strictly UI stuff is where these addons shine. Another idea I was thinking which Erana reminded me of is a soundtrack mod. Customized every zone to play it's own custom music. I myself would probably replace it with a mix of XIV/XI music.Blizz broke the crap out of mods that do that. This of course depends on how much freedom SE gives us coders.
Oh yea, and a tool that actually tries to block gil spammers.
