Beginning stages of my tanking as a PLD, I thought flash to generate hate was no longer working because "blind" was coming up as immune...so would only flash once or twice. "How the hell am I supposed to keep all the mobs on me...?" Later on learned the wiser...

In the middle of a boss fight, on PS3, suddenly the mouse icon appeared on the screen and had no clue what was happening. I had used my wireless keyboard and mouse for something else earlier, and assumed that somehow the mouse turned on again, and I couldn't move my guy at all. We wiped, everyone rage quit, and I still couldn't figure out what the hell happened, so manually turned my PS3 off and back on.

Later learned that L1 + pushing the right stick in turned the mouse function on and off....oops.

Mine is that I so far put all of my attribute points for my lv.18 MRD into strength, which is un-reallocateable for some reason, and that I haven't placed signs in my crossbar yet.

So I was speed running wanderers palace and everything was going great. On that huge pull to the first boss where you ahve to kill the tonberry so the doors will open then you sleep all the mobs and run to the boss and close em out. Well I cirlce of scorned right as mage slept. We run to the boss mage gets 2nd sleep off. But it wears off to soon. I run out of the boss area cause mobs are in their thinking I have enough time to pull them out then sneak back in with invulnerability up. I got locked out right as I was about to re enter the area. I cried the dps cursed and the healer cackled manically as we all died. Luckily that was the only problem with the run

Imagine it, a excellent run! The Conflags were perfectly synced. The Divebomb execution was flawless. The snakes, a breeze.

Then I run out of my necklace early and get nuked.

Truly, my proudest moment.

Edit: I want to mention, we one tank turn 5. So I wiped a perfect run. Woo.

It happens every day. At least twice. Every... single... day.

I wait for buffs. Everyone's protected, I've got my stoneskin. A scholar may even toss out a succor before I pull. And one second after I do my shield lob and see the dps start to unload...

*looks down*

...oh god, I forgot to turn on Shield Oath again...

*commence 10 seconds of pure panic trying to get a combo off to generate SOME kind of aggro before blowing a gcd on activating it and praying dps doesn't overtake me*

As far as I know, you can only reallocate when you join a Grand Company, then earn 10,000 GC seals to buy a reallocation time-turner.

I recently did this; I was allocated 3 DEX / 5 STR / 15 VIT (paladin) and went back and threw it all (23) into VIT... and it got me a whopping 100 or so more Health, at the expense of not seeing DODGED! as much. So I'm still not convinced about the "all VIT" build, but we'll see

As much as it pains me to type this, here it goes:

I was doing my daily CT run and things were going well enough. We got to the KB fight and as I was running to claim the NE tower a party member claimed it. No biggie, I went to claim the NW tower and saw someone on it, however I didn't realize that I was getting so close to KB and he aggro'd me. The MT stepped up and claimed him. I figured I was stuck on Giants, though I had never been on them before. As I claimed two giants and survived one Meteor, someone yells out that a tower is missing a person, the NW tower. I made my way to the tower at the moment someone yelled for me to get on the tower- okay. After turning it off twice I wiped due to Meteor, yup, I didn't see him cast Meteor. From that point, I warped to the entrance and dismissed myself from the duty.

Ugghhh. I remembered this thread existed so I had to come here and post.

Two derps tonight, although I will do my best to defend myself.

One on titan extreme. I wasn't far enough behind titan when he did the stomp, and ended up getting flung the opposite way, where I was tanking, and off the edge. However, this F up broke my 2 week spree of not getting hit by a single bomb, plume, or landslide
And my most recent happened an hour ago. We had just killed the big nail phase on ifrit x, the other tank provoked ifrit off of me, ifrit jumped, and as he came down, I went into tunnel vision bc the hard part was over, and proceeded to spam fast blade since it wouldnt take hate. I was wrong, and as soon as I aggrod, he did incinerate on me and 5 other members of the team. So disappointing. In my defense though, fast blade shouldnt have taken hate, even though I was the one blamed. My guess is that the other tank didnt shield lob or do anything after provoking, just provoke and that was it, so my FB took it.

Either way, it sucks! But it happens, its a video game after all. As long as the vast majority of the time you are doing great, you can afford to mess up here and there. The thing I hate is when I mess up with people I never played with before, and they think I suck and probably will be hesitant to run with me again, but it is what it is.

My only real problem comes with forgetting Shield Oath. I never seem to learn either because every time I wonder why I'm having so much trouble keeping aggro.
