I understand your frustration but...still...another thread isn't exactly necessary...You don't need to really do extensive "research" either...you find a thread about it...go to the OP...and click "Like" and that is literally the most effective way to get a point across.
I tried to post a thread on this last week when it happened to me, but for some reason I'm not allowed to create a new thread... Anyone have any idea why I can post replies like this one, but not new threads?

When is the Hotfix?

Your sense of entitlement is hilarious. You can underscore, bold, make it red, all caps, decorate it with balloons. The loot lockout prevents players from getting all the loot they want in a week, and the automatic loot is obviously a mistake that they just stated they will fix, but it isn't some tragic catastrophe. Don't want the loot? Pass and leave.
I think we all know the answer to this one.
"We will not be making any changes at this time. We deeply apologize for the inconvenience."
Simply put. The patch notes warned you. People didn't pay attention. Now they have items they don't want. Yes, they are improving it, but everyone was properly warned.
What I would like to see is them removing the possibility of kicking someone when a loot is in progress. Friend of mine got kicked cause the majority of the party was pre-made and a chest dropped. Easy win for them and it's very frustrating for the people that needs it but is in minority.

"Automatic loot" and "Loot lockout" are like two chemical substances, harmless separately. But brought together make a mixture that explodes on a smallest spark. And i AM entitled to be able to decide whether i want loot or not within the time shown on the loot screen, because that is how it is designed.
Yep, because everyone remembers every word they posted in that huge novel of a list of patch notes. Even so, there are plenty of legitimate reasons for this to occur unintentionally. As long as 2.1 was postponed, something this glaringly bad should have been fixed. I think many would have rather waited a week later for something this bad, and I'm fairly sure this would not have taken a week to fixI think we all know the answer to this one.

Dear SE, please remove loot lockout and just add dungeon lockout. Not because I believe it's better, I just want to see people complain about something else.
It's great that 2.15 will fix it. How about in the meantime, since so many people are complaining about it being super urgent, why doesn't everyone just not be jerks and stay in the dungeon until the item is taken or dropped. Seriously, it isn't hard. I've been saying this for weeks, and to date I have never had a person in my group get an item they didn't want because of this issue because I actually wait to see the item fall before I leave.
The temporary workaround is so easy. Everyone just needs to start thinking about someone besides themselves and stop leaving the dungeon immediately. If you're worried you're the only person that will do this, then tell your party to do the same before the last boss is killed, it only takes 1 out of the 7 other people to stick around for this issue to not happen. Hopefully you aren't in a party of 7 jerks.
But regardless, if you're one of the people that just teleports out 10 seconds after the boss dies, then you are the entire reason why this is a problem. That's not an excuse for SE's poor implementation of the loot system that allows this to happen in the first place, but considering how well-known this issue is and how easily preventable it is, it's ridiculous that people seem so incapable of working around it until it is fixed in 2.15.
