Why are there no gil fountains?

All 6 dailies and all the duty roulettes give you about 19-21k a day. The treasure maps another 12k+ if you do them everyday. Not to mention the gil drops you get while doing said dungeons in duty roullette. And if you do all the duty roullettes while spirit binding il49 accessories for tier III materia you can sell it on the ah 5 to 30k per materia. I'm rolling in gil, don't know what the issue is really. I've gone from 70k to 200k+ since 2.1 has come out and I've done nothing other than running a 1 duty roulette a day and selling philo mats for 3 to 5k each from capping philo on Crystal Tower three times. Keep in mind I've raid bcb and dungeons and em primals a lot, so probably 150k at least has gone out to repairs since 2.1 came out and I'm still making a profit.

Imo, if you use all 6 leves you get every day for crafting, do all the duty roullettes, do your dailies, and do a treasure map... There's your gil fountain.

There is no problem with gil. After they nerfed repair costs and gave you money for killing everything in instances, you have to try very hard to lose money at the end of the day. There are plenty of gil fountains in this game.

If by 'try very hard' you mean 'buy some hq food' then yeah, I agree D:

People should really stop mentioning selling stuff on the markets in a thread about gil fountains, that's just moving around the gil generated by those fountains and only slightly related to the topic. The game does have gil fountains though, at least more than on release, it's not much but should be enough for repairs and transportation. Treasure hunts and dailies are fast to complete, dungeon gil depends on how much you want to run them over and over vs going for better gear rewards from other content.

Besides with housing destroying market prices and succeeding with SE's vision of slashing 1/10 of the gil again everything is way cheaper, so if you ever do decide to touch the market boards it should be enough for most purchases anyway.

Simple supply and demand. Same supply but the demand dropped a bit since I need less food to get through events. So the prices drop to compensate slower sales.

Since they basically destroyed the farming market for webs and fleece everyone and their mothers are now flocking to farm Apkallu. #sosad

Selling stuff on the market is very relevant. There is no question that there are gil fountains in the game. There is more than enough money flowing into the game. Personal wealth and selling on the market is directly tied to gil fountains. Your personal wealth is what is important. Regardless of whether you make/earn it or you sell on the market. You can't discount one or the other. What I find funny is people complaining about 'world' economy, yet they are more concerned about their personal wealth.

Think about it this way: Other than housing (which at this point is intended to require funding from an FC instead of individuals), what is there in the game that can be bought with gil that you are unable to afford with 750k?
