Honestly, the same players who have an inability to check PF comments would likely have the inability to follow a video. It is like giving someone who does not follow instructions, instructions to follow instructions because they do not follow instructions. It might help to be more stringent with accepting ppl into your premade parties if they are ignoring PF comments too.

If devs didn't put "go watch a video before you try it" in the patch note prerequisites to clear the content, it is not really fair to assume everyone will do so. Your only way around this is premades, playing only with a group of experienced ppl you know [like with an LS or FC] and/or more precise enforcement of screening PF comments before entering the fight.

You know considering how many people currently want to skip cut scenes for a quick win I wonder what would happen if they were all replaced by detailed how to videos.

I am a person who does watch a lot of videos, but you can't expect that out of a DF group. Making a PF group with strict rules is about the only way you can go. If they lie and say they know the fight when they don't, feel free to Blist them. Otherwise, expecting anything like this out of a DF group is futile.

I honestly can't fathom how those people that originally beat these encounters did it without a video!

Right, back in the EQ days, we beat bosses just fine without pewdiepie's help

Good idea. This reminds me of another game I play that has a list of player created video guides for each class. There are youtube videos within the client (duno how the heck they do this) so that when you click on tutorial for your class it gives you information thats actually useful and easy to understand. Would be nice to have something like this when you click on duty finder, there is an option to watch guides before you que up. Not only would this be an easy way for Se to develop indepth guides, it would also give exposure to fan made FFXIV youtube channels, resulting in more advertising. Its a win win situation me thinks.

Gamefaqs, physical game guides, forums, general game info websites.
Honestly, I read more on whatever dungeon/boss I have next than I do watching videos of it. All the necessary info, very little of the visual "spoilers".

They could include in-game cheat sheets for the bosses like what they did in World of Warcraft. Honestly, I never found them extremely helpful, but at least it provides some sort of base information that is readily accessible without fishing online.

It's what my method is too. I was being sarcastic. The inability of a lot of present day gamers to learn how to play a game on their own without someone leading their hand through a video irritates me. An old gamer friend of mine wouldn't even touch game guides when he played rpgs. He liked the idea of discovering strats through trial and error.
