none of that has anything to do with a game? did you watch videos of people playing mario before you played it? part of the fun of bosses is being surprised by what they do. Its like reading a prima guide or gamefaqs to get an edge at games, but its SO much less fun. and for all those board and card games you mentioned, im pretty sure the vast majority of people learn by having someone walk them through the game, one phase at a time.

Oh, he definitely can blame other players. But they can also laugh at him all the way to the 90 minute timer.

If you're a good player and can dodge and stuff, great.

I just hate people who expect everyone in the party to explain the entire fight to them when they could have watched a video or read up on it first. What's the point of 'experiencing it' if you need everyone to explain it to you?

If you want to see something for the first time and that is your method for learning a fight I recommend going with your fc for that. In df this is the likely situation: Start fight, you die then try again and die then everyone leaves. If you are trying to see the fight for the first time that is not a very successful method imo. Here is two common personal experiences with DF, 1.) everyone has an understanding of the fight and progresses slowly till time runs out gg's 2.) one or two people have no clue what is going on and someone leaves on first wipe. I am not claiming what is the right thing to do here I am just saying it might be in your best interest to watch a vid and have an understanding first.

Once you know the fight and are experienced, by all means only play with like minded players. But Duty Finder is totally random, if you don't want people new to a fight then don't use it. Other than Titan EX and T5 I haven't watched any videos beforehand and have done fine so far.

I'm not knocking people who do research a fight first, or want to play with those who do, just don't expect everyone else to do the same.
And I would never kick anyone for it either. I'm fine with communicating strategy and sharing information first hand. Hell I've done it for most of my runs. But if we take into account that DF really is random, it means that the ignorant players looking to discover first hand are going to be mixing with the players looking for the fastest route to clear a piece of content. Now, that does not mean the clearers should get upset at the ignorant for not knowing, but that also means the ignorant are willingly refusing to discover information that will help the party clear the run. Again, this isn't about the individuals experience, it's about the group experience. And while personal discovery is fun for you, it's wasting the time and efforts of those who actually know how to clear the run, making it less fun for them. Group content is about working together, and I don't see the advantage of ignoring what can only help lead to success for everyone.

DF is a two way street certainly, but slower traffic should move to the right if they don't want to keep the same pace.

Now, for solo fights, go all out, test your knowledge and fight with tactics (real shame about that early gargoyle fight being nerfed). That's fun and fits the individual benefit more than the party benefit.

    Mario isn't really a co-op game.
And when it is, it's amongst friends in the same room.

It's funny: when I first read this post, I agreed vehemently with the OP. Last night, I was dealing with this frustration to no end. However, I realized that there is truth to what people are saying. I forget that not everyone plays the same way that I do. Duty Finder, like playing multiplayer games in general, consists of various players which means various situations. Sometimes it will be in my favor, and other times, it will not.

For once I actually learned a moral on a forum... O_o

This game needs player friendly content for everyone so that people are not at eachothers throats on this stuff. I have many reasons I wont run x modes and none of them are to blame or put down but I don't want to explain it here, Rather play content that I don't have to spend hours on hours end wiping and that is not all the players faults its the lag and other stuff but I haven't the time anymore to worry about it. For me I can grind some mobs for silly drops or do wp/ ak then I will just watch movies and tattoo myself. No stress involved.

In the end, I would love for this game to have content that brings players together. More stuff like CT, The x modes are making people depend on others or making many rage because of the time wasted. Its not bringing a community together and this is not a free to play so yeah idk idc much so im good.
