This is even more noticeable with Ifrit ex parties, they dont want a single melee dps there. All go ranged noobs because it's much easier.

yeah on Ifirt I guess mages are more desireable specially because of Meteor LB, but I guess it has to be that way. Some fights mages are better and some not. Some fights melee are better some are not. Otherwise people would have any reason to level classes that wouldnt work on any kinda of fights. There must be a balance.
no melee allowed? that stupid, melee is OP in Titan EXTREME
I've been the only range in multiple clears for Titan and Ifrit Ex, it makes NO difference. If anything BLM is the worst in Titan but only marginally, and everyone is equally as useful in Ifrit.
That's a farm group though. So they are just choosing the party composition which they find most effective, which they are entitled to do.I simply wanted to feel what everyone else felt when they finally beat it legitimately for their first time in a pug, then things like this started happening.
I myself am a Melee dps main, I'm actually unsure of why this is happening, but...it is. And its Bull!@#$
I thought this stuff was going to be over after Garuda and her stupid mechanics but I guess I was wrong, melee dps will always be gimped and sub-tier to ranged dps.
Why do I pay for this game
Inb4 "Make your own group" - I can/have been, no one can down this fight, I haven't got hit by a landslide/plume in the last 10 hours, I have been at Titan Ex nonstop.
I see what you are saying but I am not the type of person to come and complain after a single instance, this has happened multiple times throughout the day and yesterday.
Go away.
Ah yes, every party compostion in majority of stances seems to favor ranged dps, wp sr, t1, t2, almost turn 4, garuda ex etc etc
This is just great for the community as a whole isn't it, gimping classes we have spent months gearing up.
i suppose that would be good if your suicidal since extreme mode nails explode and do damage and a nasty debuff on everyone forcing you to do one at a time.yeah on Ifirt I guess mages are more desireable specially because of Meteor LB, but I guess it has to be that way. Truth is though the most effective strategy for ifrit doesn't really matter on the dps comp too much since the majority of the fight they're stacked on his butt and running as a group for eruptions and the only downside for melee is the chaining one to the offtank from time to time during nails which is easily remedied by saving the ones directly on top of him for last
No melee on ifrit means that healers don't have to worry about their positions as much since all ranged can just stack in the middle. It's not superior though because melee lb is great on the big nail and they can take down individual nails very fast, it's just lazy.
On Titan as a blm I can't parse much higher than 200, every group that actually knows the fight should be begging for a melee since it ensures you can down him in well under 2 cycles and they can parse very high.
Melee can do really well on the fight but so can ranged dps especially summoners with dual dps on titan plus gaols and both adds. To be honest the only non melee friendly extreme is Ifrit. Ifrit's got so much movement involved mechanics with Eruption shenanigans and Nail phase 3 is ludicrous especially if you accidentally get vulcan blasted onto the howl side of the arena.
