An Open Letter to Yoshida-san: Please Slice One Zero Off the Housing Prices

I am a huge fan of FFXIV, I love this game and I love this world, I supported it since 1.0 and I'm not going anywhere. But just being honest here, it is shameful to watch this video and compare it to what is on display in these forums. Not just the huge array of features in Wildstar Housing compared to FFXIV's barebones; not just how it is a 'core gameplay mechanic' compared to FFXIV's 'tacked-on servers-can-barely-run-it affair; but especially that the video's ending tagline is "Remember, the devs are listening."

If you think W*'s housing is impressive, try Rift's dimensions... @.@ Nothing will ever compare. I do agree, it's shameful how little attention Squee has paid to the actual content of their housing system.

Not a fan of Rift's dimensions to be honest. While the single dimension is great, the fact that they actually lack a "neighborhood" kind of turns me off.

Neghborhoods lost their appeal to me when
1) I realized just how claustrophobic and limited the zones were.
and
B) It became evident the interior of houses are instanced.

Because of those two things, I'd rather they scrap the neighborhoods and give us our own instances with massive lots and a lot of extra land to explore.

The world itself has plenty of land to explore. I'd still rather have the neighborhoods. They're not enormous, but they're nice to form some nice little communities, which RIFT really lacks.

Eh, the dizzying heights of creativity you can reach (as opposed to having to use basic cookie cutter homes and standard decorations), not to mention how fantastic they are as RP hubs, waaaay makes up for the individual instancing of dimensions for me.

You apparently suffer from lack of reading comprehention - I've said NO relevant reply to this thread (in this thread indeed) ... First two links are uselless as the price "reduction" scheme doesn't solve anything and simply acts as stalling tactics - nothing else, last link is totally irelevant to housing. The request here was simple (and totally ignored) - cut the prices 10 times and unify it across servers - not that proposed crap after slow decrease. Anyway - I've voted with my wallet already and I'm not extending my sub anymore and I've gifted my spare time cards (4x 60 days) to someone less bothered fighting with the windmills. I'm tired of the arogance with which Yoshi and SE is treating us but most of all of all the whiteknights here defending him. Are you TOTALLY blind? Can't you see this WILL affect you even if you don't care about the (pricing of) housing in particular? Can't you see the crashing economies on all servers because of this? If not - then you're really shortsighted - unhappy and leaving players means less money, less or delayed content, early demise of the whole company - is that really acceptable for you??

In regards of your pathetic "zero effort" comment - you can kiss my lower behind!! I was saving EVERY SINGLE GIL for 3 months towards housing, not spending ANYTHING at all (no teleports, no repapirs, no gear or crafting mats purchases), working REALLY really hard every single day 8 - 10 hours and until the patch notes release date I've considered myself fairly wealthy player accumulating about 10 - 20 times more than average player at the same time just to find out that Yoshi decided to F us all up and that I can't afford even the doorknob for the house my small FC was looking for. So - please - stop using this nonsese argument here. If you're not bothered about the housing or it's pricing - good for you - but stop puting (incorrect) words to other's people mouth, thank you.

Oh - BTW - found the email from SE today inviting me to do some customer questionaire about ARR - haven't checked it yet but might have a look and give them some unhappy responce about house pricing if that would be possible in some free format comment field there - you might consider the same ...
