Even if you share absolutely no items at all between all classes, you'll have enough room to store the new kabutos and snowman head. I forgot to mention that the usagi kabutos are ALSO one of those ancient tradeable seasonal items, and thus won't be storable. Best put them on a retainer!

Also, there's a reason I stress making things that are used in guildleves or GC supply/provision missions. Rather than selling to an NPC for piss-poor money, or selling on the boards and risking having it not sell at all, you can get bonus xp, other rewards, and achievement progress! Hooray!

Guess we will agree to disagree. 20 jobs + 2 Christmas hats + 8 kabutos = 30 pieces of headgear. You only have 25 in armoury. Obviously excluding those you can put in armoire.

What you suggest is fine when you plan ahead, and only gather what you need to make. There are also achievements in making and using material, which means some gear you make sticks around a while and not simply handed in. Once you are already overloaded, things are a bit harder. Exactly why I am selling my cooking only materials. Not finished crafted items, the base materials. You can't turn those in, you either use in crafting, sell to NPC, or sell on market board. I saved a lot of materials because I know I will eventually craft. And gear sets because I think they look neat. I will not undercut everyone on the market board just to dump the mats, nor will I sell to NPC, nor will I craft in cooking just to use it. So cooking mats are being sold off at a slow rate.

I have not even included people that may want to save their Philo, Myth, CT, or other gear sets for RP or other purposes. Things can be quite a juggle when you are already overloaded. Sure, if you plan ahead, only gather what you will immediately craft, only turn into leves or GC, then you are right no inventory problems. Not so easy when you let yourself get full and you don't want to just basically give away mats to an NPC.

I was only counting the hats that would ACTUALLY go into the armoire. The dream hats and usagi kabutos will never go in the armoire, unless they change their policy on what goes there, and are also technically not new items (They came out in 1.0, as did the dragon kabutos and reindeer costume). Your only option is to put them on a retainer if you don't want to have them on hand.

A lot of my advice is to make use of your retainer, and only keep things on hand that you actually expect to use in the immediate future. So, the gear for all 20 jobs, maybe one or two vanity sets, any food or other consumables you use, dark matter for repairs, and materials you intend to use for crafting currently. I am actually one of those people who collects oodles of old gear (Mostly dungeon drops), and retainers do give you plenty of room for that.

Honestly, the biggest thing you need to learn is to let go. Sometimes, it's worth it just to NPC something especially if it never sells on the market boards. Consider whether the hassle of having it in your inventory is a bigger issue than just getting it again. That stack of mythril ore on my retainer? Probably gonna keep it, I use it a lot. That single piece of maple lumber? I can get another if I really need it.

It helps because not everyone has the perfect inventory. Sure maybe someone gathered too many items. Instead of selling them off to an NPC vendors it may take a while to clear them through the Market Board to try to make a little more money. Like cooking. I know I will do that last so I am selling off my cooking materials.

Add in different levels of DoW, DoM, DotH, DotL, where maybe you can't share equipment because the levels are too far apart, then you have multiple gear sets.

So, yes, until the crafters are the same level and can share the same gear, gatherers at the same level and share the same gear, melee dps, caster dps, heals, tanks, are all the same level as they are leveling up to share the same gear, we can indeed have an overflowing armory. SE releasing these items without letting us throw them into the armoire certainly does not help.

No, that's the big issue indeed. Did you ever notice that following the Murphy's law the items you let go are the ones that can only be bought back in batches of 99? We never know when we will need that single maple lumber or whatever. It takes a lot of time to memorize what's junk and what's not. And don't forget that we can have two types for each item, since HQ and normal don't stack together.


Also what's the point about selling the gear to GC? To get 100-200 seals? Please. Some gear is either good looking or with good stats. Not to mention all the things we can get now, and more in the future, from advanced raids. Plus the seasonal events stuff. The place for the Christmas suits is the Armoire, not the retailer. There is simply no space. Try to raise a culinarian and a blacksmith having 5 or 6 fighting jobs at the same time and see

Amongst others - the Achievement rewards for delivery and supply missions - +1 bonding Earings and Ring (Lilly and Serpent for Order of the Twin Adder)

See, if you always hold on to every item "just in case" then of course you will have inventory issues. For me, I get rid of that single piece of maple lumber because I can buy it cheap from an NPC, or go out and gather it myself. I do tend to keep items I can't obtain easily (Mostly monster drops like leather and sinew), even in small quantities.

As for selling gear to the GC, that's because it's one of the few ways to get rid of dungeon drops and get something useful in return. If the stats are useful, fine, keep it on hand as part of your set. If you like the look, keep it on hand as a vanity set. I actually keep a LOT of dungeon items myself. Just understand that you're making a choice. If you find yourself with no inventory because you've kept every last drop from every dungeon you've ever done, that's not SE's fault. It's yours.

Also, FYI, I am currently leveling all 8 crafting classes, including culinarian and blacksmith, as well as having gear sets for all 9 jobs. So, yeah, I kinda am doing that, and I see I can still manage my inventory.

(Oh, and HEC, turning in dungeon drops only gives seals. It doesn't add progress to the achievements)
