i spent just under an hour doing this, thinking i was going to be rewarded with a Chocobo Mask. boy was I disappointed with these creepy Horse hats.
not to mention the annoyance of not being able to move past a certain marker if a FATE is near....

The Lightning event was my favourite, i solo'd the armoured beast fate as blm with my chocobo many times
This event however drags on forever. Reason why i think a co-worker does not play anymore, too many quests make players out to be a courier service

I have not done this yet...oh boy...sound fun.....I thought we could put the seasonal items in our Armoire now....??? i was able to put my swimsuits in their finally and my ghost costumes....has anyone tried to put these helms in??? My favorite was the lightining event also...all the rest have been just tasky eat up my playtime boredom runs for stuff I wear for like 20 seconds just to get a screen shot really quick. Come on Vanity slots!!!!

Personally I wasn't fond of the event either. Not because of how short and boring it was, but just because nothing in it was funny to me and I was honestly more offended by some things said by the Horse people, or at least felt like my character would be. Especially when they insulted Chocobos, I'd take my feathery friend over a typical horse any day. Plus only having kabutos available was a bit of a letdown, though I enjoy that gathering food. I got a few stacks worth of that stuff after buying my dragon kabuto.
Still going to look forward more to Lightning event returning in February.
I have never enjoyed a special event once. Seriously maybe they should make them actual events like most mmos. Please don't make them a fate anymore it's just not fun.
My discord is Moose#9971
Well, this event in particular was something which got on me, it felt like a single big personal insult. Maybe I take things too serious already, but it was the final drop which made the barrel overflow. After seeing what great game Yoshida made out of 1.x up to patch 1.23, by simply listening to the community, and then by kicking the people who helped him saving the brand by reversing everything into the opposite... it is already hard enough to be a legacy player who went with SE through the horror 1.0 has been and still be loyal now, but this event really, and I am totally serious here, has been so ridiculous and embarassing to participate, that I was 100% sure that certain people at SE have wet themselves while laughing at those idiots who are doing it.
Treating customers like retards seems to have become a vital part of Yoshida's business plan.
I agree!!! It was such a waste of time.
Seasonal Events and Quests should be enjoyable. And at least make the bloody rewards worth the time to actually do the quest. Seriously!?!?!
What am i supposed to do with these horse heads? They are worthless and have no use to anyone. Also one, the longest quest of the event - where you have to present all 3 different coloured horse heads you have collected from each city to the woman - gives you the most let down of an award ever! - A meal. Which you can buy from the seasonal NPC stood a few feet away from her.
What would have been a good reward is a horse mount! As that would have made sense and while doing the quest, you are kinda led to think thats what you might get!
Come on SE sort it out. You're seasonal events are waaaaay below standard.
Give us rewards we are gonna find useful! Mounts, minions, levelled items - constantly getting lvl 1 useless gear is just wasting our time!

Unfortunately, the only good thing to come out of this event for me was the Golden Dragon helm. That at least brings me back to my days as a Samurai in FFXI, and gives me hope that I can once again live by the sword in FFXIV, on day. :3
They were sort of stuck with this holiday. How do you expect them to create an event celebrating the Year of the Horse in a world that doesn't have horses? They wound up going with a comic attempt to bring in horses (which was never going to actually happen, since FF games don't have horses). I do wish they'd left out the insults to chocobos (or else had our character argue back at that point), but they were trying to fit in something that doesn't really fit the world.
The quests themselves were actually quite fun, and certainly a lot better than just a bunch of FATEs. So for actual content, I think this is the best event we've had in ARR so far. The rewards, however, are ugly and pointless. (At least the new rewards from this event itself are ugly. The dragon ones from a couple years ago are cool looking, so I'm glad we get to buy previous years' rewards.)
