Poor DPS - apparently. Need advise.

Not the way he's written it. A macro that behaves the way you describe would have /wait 2.5 or /wait 3 between each buff. His will just pick an ability (usually in order listed, taking into account CDs) and use it, then stop unless you push the macro again.

But I'm probably still playing manually without macro because I prefer to choose which buff to use depending on situation (ie not gonna have BfB up when Titan's stomp are coming or a major damager like Ultima's Tank Purge is just next )

For Titan's stomps and Twintania's Fireball I swap out my my macro for one that doesn't include B4B and I replace Swiftsong on my Controller hotbar with it so I can use B4B at perfect timing.

In a way you are right, but it also takes skill to use such a macro so that it won't hinder you in that way. Particularly on a controller you are going to lose time sifting through multiple hotbars because you can't fit all your actions on 1. It just won't flow as fluidly as mastering the macro instead. And for PC it's a lot easier than having to hover your mouse constantly over so many actions across multiple hotbars all while trying to move at the same time or turn your camera at the same time. You can have 100% uptime while being mobile, but that's very different from being able to have max DPS while being mobile.
