Anyone with comments on the Crimson pants vs Sorcerer's Tonban? There's a buttload of det on the Crimson, but does it make up for the 4 int the Tonban offers?

21 DET is roughly equal to the 4 INT loss, but then you lose 4 VIT, 13 SS (if you value it), and 24 CHR. The 24 CHR alone is enough to destroy any notion of Crimson Pants being at all near Sorcerer's Tonban from a min/max perspective.
I have another question. By stacking crit or SS we end up really lowering our det. Det determines how hard our spells hit for right? Shouldn't there be some det put into the crit and SS so our spells hit harder? It just seems like we are lowering our damage by making our det so low. Is there a way to get decent stats on all 3 and put out more damage then a strict crit or SS or det bis set? Has anyone tried this method?
From what I've read, DET affects auto attacks a lot more than spells. Not sure if that info is still up to date.I have another question. By stacking crit or SS we end up really lowering our det. 4 vit is just like 10-20 more HP. Doesn't really matter. I'm still trying to see if it's worth buying the Sorcerer's Tonban because if the Allagan Breeches ever drop for me, I'll probably not use the Tonban until I get my Allagan Scepter.
4 vit is 60 HP, but yeah, Sorcerer is better than Crimson.
Yoshi-P is doing his best and is patching Endwalker. Please wait warmly until it is ready.

5 DET equals exactly 1 INT
1 INT can add anywhere from +0.15 to +1.9 damage depending on spell used (see spread)
There is zero obligation for you to max out any one stat (unless it suits your style or if you have OCD towards a stat). My BiS gear options simply shows the differences between each stacked stats (DET vs CRIT vs SSPD) the game has to offer at its current state. 99% of players will go for a blend of the three, including myself.
Patch 2.1 gave more CRIT gear to play around with. Spell SPD will probably get more love next time around.
On the side note, call me crazy but I can actually 'feel' the difference of 0.03 sec between 2 gear sets. I probably am crazy.. :O
We're both in the same boat. :P
I honestly wouldn't spend it on the pants. Just wait for it to drop assuming you currently clear all content.
My DPS, as it is right now, is enough to clear everything at i89 like yours. Upgrading a secondary job right now seems more important less you are really hell bent on getting i90.
So are you able to make a supreme BIS that has the best stats to bring the highest dd a blm can do, instead of the stacking stat sets?@Pinworms
