Wat you miss when abandoning leves

So I have gotten to the point where I fail every leve I have to ensure I get it again at the next reset. What am I missing from failing these? Faction points? I'm not even sure what they are used for - anything worth while? And there is a gil reward but currently I think SP > faction points and gil. Am I wrong?

Depends if you want to get any of the gear from the special missions (Buccaneer's, Templar's etc). They only drop from the Faction leves (rarely) and cost 400 points a fight. But you could save up like 15mil a piece (depending on item and I guess which server) if you really wanted.

I know the SP is good on some leves, but I personally don't bother abandoning them and just do 6 each reset with at least a group of 3 or 4 with leves also

Yeah, in my point of view, you are wrong. You miss satisfaction to complete the leves, you miss variety since you repeat the three same leves indefinitely, and you miss the essence of the game "to be an adventurer that help the world where he lives".

Btw, yes, you miss Faction points.... The only way to unlock the most interesting quests of the game, imho, i mean Faction leves.

    Just my opinion

i guess as a mage not having the faction points to get my harley gear is a pretty big deal. you also give up your guild marks so you take tons longer to get the nice skills that are actually bought. i mean it's up to the individual, but what i give up with a 50 class is alot. i can go spend 5mil on the hat, 12 mil on the pants, and 15 mil on the acton if i want, but that is a 32 million gl tradeoff.

yeah first time through your special mission leves is 600 faction points per line (3 or 4 lines aside from horn and hand I believe) after that it is 400 points per NM faction leve. These are the only leves you can get the items that allows you to obtain the Faction NM gear like mentioned above. Also gil and other rewards that the leve you abandon may reward.

horn and hand leves seem like a pretty good way to build up guild marks.

The biggest threat to this game is abandoning leves. Its ridiculously toxic to the game because getting to 50 is easy beyond comparison.

    You lose the following:

    1) Guild Marks (Job Abilities... chances are more will be added, so if you have like 2000 and some new say Advanced job ability cost 30000 marks or something... yea you will be screwing yourself for awhile)
    2) Faction Credit (Several of the best pieces in the game for certain jobs drop off those, and chances are this system will be expanded on later, which could cause issues later on if you have no credits)
    3) Bonuses to Gil and Mark for doing leves in multiple regions (1 star bonus vs 2)

    You gain:
    1) Much higher sp/hr
    2) More monatany.... seriously doing the same 6-8 leves every reset every month is boring as all get out

Basically if you aren't interested in gear that has miniscule stat differences compared to easily acquired cheap gear, then faction leves aren't really that big of a deal. The SP trade off for keeping the really good leves that everyone does ( Dunesfolk, All Cracked Up, Ranine Reveries, Levinshower ) isn't even a question for me, since gil and items are mostly worthless so far, and each of these can give like 25k SP a piece on a good, full linked run.

Side note: You should be completing the ones you have doubles of, and then getting the new one by trading the old one in. That way you get faction credit/rewards AND a copy of the leve to use and fail again in same refresh.

By higher he means astronomically higher SP. Secondly I agree 100% but lets be honest, people abuse this avenue like you wouldn't believe. Hell, there is an LS on my server that religiously does this churning out people with 50 jobs who don't know how to play them. Again, the leve fail absurdity needs to be taken out of the game.
