If it wasn't for the Duty Finder, I would not have progressed as far as I have.

The thing is, the reason why you can't find anyone to do content in this game, is because of duty finder. EVERYONE IS USING IT, there is no need to search or what have ya.

So you would have progressed just as far.

OH NO WHAT ABOUT THE WAIT TIMES..... you might say, well, YOU HAVE TO WAIT TO DO DUTY FINDER AS WELL... I would respond, idk, how many storys there are about people waiting hours for a group. At least you can make your own makeshift group if you there wasn't a reliance of duty finder.

look we get it, you hate everything that makes the game convenient or accessable, you're devoted to XI ("Your sad devotion to that ancient religion.... stupid star wars referance, etc.). You've literally complained about everything that has been added to XIV since 1.0 went live (some of which you've flip flopped on worse than Romney), could you please quit complaining already.

Even when I played 1.0 I was able to get a group together within 1 hour(same time as duty finder). XI I could also get a group together in one hour(same time as duty finder). There is no hole, you just have to be good at making groups, or be lucky, which I am both. ALSO in 1.0 there wasn't a very good party search program in place.

EDIT: I have not flipped flopped on anything, please give quotes. If you are going to make such ludicrous claims.

In FFXI ALL my parties were PUG, and I was main thf. The only time I had to wait, was when I didn't create a party, and that would be a few hour wait. When I did create my own party, it was 30mins to an hour to get a full party.

I LOVE duty finders. I can play how i want, when i want, and even though some times are a wait, it's not even close compared to games/times that didn't have them. My most loathed moment was in WoW, back in 1.0, trying to find a group for Zul'furak. I spent two hours shouting. I never did get a group, most either were looking for tanks or healers or run only with their guilds. "So get in a guild" i hear you say, i was, they didn't need a warlock either or were at raiding. I simply stopped running dungeons at that point, and played solo.

I have never seen a "community" in an mmo, even without duty finders. Most only run with guilds, play with friends, or similar. The only people i even vaguely remember from my close to decade of play in WoW are Magicevan, with his almost constant spamming for people to join his AV group (he did this for years, every day.), and Armani, a creative crafter who always had interesting messages in chat to promote gear he made, and then priced several times more than it should be worth. I don't remember anyone else, and never saw this helpful community people seem to talk about.

Why? So people can get to 50 like in 1.0 still not able to do story mode ifrit because they can't find people on their server willing to help them?

DF is the best thing to happen to XIV

except for you know making FFXIV know for having one of the worst communities ever. i actually agree with rokien to a point give something for people on the same server as well as using duty finder.

Actually, PF has the benefit of either better players or more accountability for players. It has its own rewards. It also is the only option for coil.

As they add content, PF might be the only option for some content. It's really a nice feature. Probably my favorite part of this patch. (Aside from Good King Moggle Mog)

I didn't say get rid of duty finder, I said make it where it's discouraged.

You help no one but yourself when you do duty finder, you don't help the overall economy of your server, you don't help fellow players(you should know full well how that feels).

There is already Party Finder in the game already, you don't have to use the Duty Finder. Most people now use DF to practice anyway. Making your own party through Party Finder you can weave out the bad one and make Friends with people who are good at their job, especially Tank and Healer, it will help you a lot in the end game.
