Succor/rouse/WD > old medica 2. Which was just fine for healing fireballs.

It's clunky, you'd require a rotation to have a rouse/wd up for each fireball with both scholars having to micro manage EoS meaning either no Selene buffs through that phase or the misery of topping a group back up with several succor casts each on every other fireball.

Just as with a whm healing through infirmity, it's neither optimal nor especially pleasant but it's far from impossible. A whm will heal up the majority of that damage with a single button press, it's just easier.

Don't get me wrong, whilst yes I do agree that whm is a little rough around the edges I'm frankly puzzled as to why so many people have such a huge bee in their bonnet over Schs being the master race and whms being worthless by comparison. Yes there are situations where a sch leads the way, but for the most part my parser results are pretty much returning the exact opposite of this forum would have me believe.

L2P rouse>dawn isn't hard lol. The fairy doesn't waste it with obey on now. Also only the person running into the conflag needs healing. Noone else needs immediate healing. So heal them at your pace if using whispering dawn is too hard for you. Physick and embrace are enough. Its not like the person going into the conflag has be full hp. Normally like 1800 is enough, even lower if dawn is ticking.

Anyway im doing double sch turn 5 but we have a smn so we just have 3 pets+fireball person. 6 lustrate per minute makes death sentence a complete joke.

If you don't have a smn you can have eos+selene+offtank together and have the fireball person run into them. Just time a physick+embrace on the dps. Severely reduces healing required for that phase. Letting you focus your attention on aldo/ss +lustrate death sentence Or doing dps your self.

Do not do this, just physick + embrace at your leisure, lustrate if really necessary. Since only 3-4 people are taking damage.
You will heal 3-4 targets after the second cast.

Good job misunderstanding my point! Bonus points for sneaking in a L2P! Clunky doesn't mean hard, it means it's more effort than a whm mindlessly face rolling 90% of the damage back in a single button press with no pet positioning required. If Death sentence were more of an issue or we were struggling with debuff rotations or stoneskin/heal timing on the hit then perhaps. But eh, we seem to be doing just fine running with whm/sch combos in our coil groups so ty anyhow!

I don't know if faceroll is the word I would use. Using cure 3 for example can be a drain on mana where fairy heals are free and don't cost you a gcd. And using pets to soak fireball means you don't need any positioning to heal, the pet is already in position.

If death sentence isn't an issue that's great but that's also because SCH deals with it so well. I think Sharaz is just pointing out that two sch borderline trivializes it. But that is the point, class balance doesn't really come out or become an issue until content gets harder. But that doesn't mean that it doesn't exist.

For example, I could point out that sch/sch is weak in raid heals. Esp if content required burst aoe healing to the extent that cure 3 would be needed on a rotation that was more than once or twice a minute. That's a balancing issue, but content like that doesn't exist so its irrelevant. Twin is the first fight where whm weaknesses start to show. If the game had more encounters with spike dmg and healing debuffs it would start to be an issue.

But isn't that really the point? The general thought process is that whm excels at burst aoe healing, and sch excels at burst st healing. Well content favors the latter.

I think you're a bit blinkered on your views of content though. Yes of course some stuff favours sch, but on the flip side, whms have their moments too.

Does your strat not involve the fireball marker to the pet/offtank? Guess you do a split formation? In that case more people take dmg, the pets allow you to minimize the number of players getting hit so you barely need aoe heals.

Trivializing death sentence and fireball are completely different. Fireball isn't difficult and is dealt with either healer fine. You need at least one sch for death sentence and it still requires prep and timing. I don't think its a fair comparison at all lol.

And whether or not whm have their moments, which I can't actually think of in coil... there is no content that a sch cannot raid heal through. And with the medica 2 change I find that needing the raid to stack is actually more annoying personally.

As you say, we just split the raid and heal whichever side gets hit, mk1 Medica II was preferable for dealing with it as the group regen also nullified conflag damage and helped top up the tank to boot but Cure III seems to do a decent job of it, medica II is usually ticking full time anyway since eh, got the mp, may as well use it.

Rouse whispering dawn is ticking more then twice as strong as medica 2. Over 24 seconds it will heal more then divine seal cure 3. Cure 3 requires timing,surecast and needs to be used on people who are within range. Dawn will hit both pts even if fairy is in the other group. How is rouse>dawn harder then cure 3 timing?

Whm isn't face rolling cure 3 for multiple reasons, their finite mana pool ,poor radius of spell and the chance that someone will move out of range.

Even on its own, dawn is strong enough to over come conflag with double succor or physick.
