I just can't understand this twisted elitism, what you're saying is it's perfectly ok for you to not do the easy thing (FATE's/low level dungeons) to get Swiftcast but to make up for that everyone else has to be flawless at all times, everytime even in the toughest content.

All heals should have swiftcast if they would like to contribute to the best of their availability towards the group's success. Swiftcast is NOT just for rezzing, there are a ton of uses for it that make it a huge benefit in your arsenal as a healer. It takes very little time and effort to get a THM to 26 to get this skill, and to not do so is simply lazy.

You know, it's not just the getting hit by a plume that can get you killed. Or it's not just DPS. Sometime you, yourself, the healer get hit by a plume. Or the tank lost hate for a second and the mob oneshotted the poor BLM. Or the tank didn't grab the mob in time during T4 and it oneshotted someone. Oh and, you know Swiftcast is not used only for raise, right? SCHs use it to re-cast the fairy or switch it, WHM can swiftcast Medica II in situation like Ifrit Nails, after Ifrit astral flow or Titan jumps.

and NONE of those are the failings of the healer, they are all failings of the DD and the tank, except poor placement of the healers pet, which is the healers failing...using it to insta cast a heal makes it a useful tool for a healer, but not a required one...

the reason SWIFTCAST is on a DD job is because its a DD tool

I don't get it. Swiftcast is great utility and helps out your group if someone makes a mistake. That quick raise when someone dies during divebomb, or just a quick raise to correct a dps who got too enthusiastic dpsing that he forgot to watch for Imminent Catastrophe. Heck, throwing a quick swiftcast medica 2 because you were distracted by Titan EM will also save your team's life.

Sure, they should not be getting hit in the first place, but a healer with Swiftcast can help remedy the situation quickly. It makes you a great healer, not just a good one.

main reason is because he hasnt been doing any of the end game raids or trials yet. and no relic either so i guess he hasnt done titan hm too. :3
