Why is "Duty Roulette" a solo feature?

This is an MMO, and everything that can be experienced, should be able to be experienced in party. Other MMO's offer daily rewards for random dungeon que's and do not limit a player to a solo experience in order to do so.

Finally, someone who gets it; this is the gist of the problem.

then we will have the problem of people stuck on low level story quests all over again :3 its simple really. if more high level people 3 man df it, less lower level players will get the chance to get in one. now this is the core purpose of DR. how many times do we DR anyway? 5 times tops yeah? so thats 5 guys u helped clear their story quests with instead of 15.

No, the reason for the bonus is to actually give players a reason to start running dungeons and other duty finder content again.

Running other content isn't helping anyone but yourselves if you do it with the same people over and over. I stick by my reason for the bonus. Its so you jump in solo to help others.

Maybe let the people that you group with know that you would like to do more content with them instead of splitting up? Also you mentioned FC housing. Perhaps I misunderstood what you were referring to but FC housing is/was intended to be a group activity, the housing shared among the people in the FC complete with the ability to share the different feature content per the FC master's permission settings. Purely solo housing has not yet been implemented.

Even if you are correct, I pay a monthly subscription to play this game. I should be able to experience the game the way I want to play it. If I want to play with my friends, that is my prerogative. However, if my friends have all gone to sleep, it is still nice to have a system available that I can que solo, and be grouped with other players. THIS is why people play MMO's, to experience a fantasy world through the eyes of the player the way THEY want to experience it, not the way they are told to experience it. For that, I can just play regular games.

Why you don't queue normal with your friends? It's not like after duty rulette you are unable to form a party and use DF.

Rewarding certain behavior doesn't make other functions impossible. YOu can run whatever you want with whoever you want. You are just being bribed to play with people you don't know. That's it.

I can't cap my weekly myths by JUST using the roulette... I get the bonus once a day, then I need to run regular dungeons in groups with other people to cap. The roulette has done nothing to pull my FC apart. We still queue up together for tomes, dungeons, ect. Maybe you just need to ask people to play with you more often. Even when I'm capped on myth for the week, I'll still run things with other people... Cause lack of selfish.

Every feature in the game is not going to be party friendly. Nor are you obligated to use every feature in the game. I will likely NEVER pvp again. I don't now, nor have I ever liked pvp. But I'm not going to demand that pvp be changed to accommodate the way I like to play MMOs. I just won't bother putting any effort into using that feature.

Taekrys, you DO realise you can still join a specific dungeon in a group, don't you? the duty roulette's SOLE PURPOSE was that people get a shorter queue. so OBVIOUSLY 'the solo players' (lol??) are the ones happy to benefit from this. it was .made.for.them.

Actually it was made because it's normal for MMOs to offer bonus rewards for randomizing a dungeon queue a day.

Other MMOs do just fine with allowing a premade group of friends queue for random dungeons. You can also actually speak to people on your server, as well as view friend and guild lists, when inside a dungeon.

SE is still new at managing a modern day MMO, so it will likely take them some time to get this right. If they ever do at all.

And no, people who want to quickly get a random dungeon done solo aren't "screwed" in any way, as someone put it. It's in no way a valid excuse.

@meimei but that's another issue, and one I absolutely agree with too. in fact it's one of the biggest annoyances I have with this game right now
