It's because you look at it as not a world, which it really is. It's like people that go out and do things alone in real life, there's no real difference. Some people enjoy this type of game, but they don't enjoy being forced into groups to do everything. Many of them also don't enjoy being looked down upon by people who refuse to understand their viewpoint because they refuse to look at something for what it is and not what they want it to be.

However they cannot get the rewards from it because SE wants them to group with the "solo person playing an MMO" mindset. Why not give the rewards while allowing groups to join or joining solo that way the guy who wants to play solo can get in a party with 3 other people who don't like playing with other people. People wouldn't make thier own groups if the people in DF were all so friendly.
One of the issues you're ignoring or not even looking at is that not everyone has a posse of friends who will help them at a drop of a hat. DF is intended for those very situations. You got home from work early, and want to jump on and get something done. But, oh, none of your friends are on, and it might take a while to get a server group put together, in which time DF could very well have you in a group and on your way.

Also as Horo said, grouping with friends is indeed likely to be faster and more efficient than solo queuing for the roulette. The problem is, people see the reward and automatically think they're being punished or think they should get the reward too, but without fulfilling the conditions. It's an opportunity cost. Play with your group of friends and get dungeons done faster, which also has no limit per day. Or you can solo queue with the roulette and get a bonus reward, but the runs are likely to go slower as well since you will likely get newer players.

Again, key term here is "Opportunity Cost". You're not being punished, to think so is to play the victim when you aren't.

cuz they wanna spread out the experienced players instead of clumping them up. duty roulette was also created because a lot of people are stuck at less popular instances. mainly storyline instances. so its pretty much 3 noobies to every 1 experienced instead of the other way around. (for the mid-low tier dungeons and higher end story dungeons) i used to be in a couple of pretty big fc's where there are always calls for low level dungeons from new guys. not that many people answer them due to effort/reward mentality. this kinda solves it.

so long story short. duty roulette was made to help the new guys first, solo players second, and not partial premades.

You're making quite a few assumptions here:

    1. People who use duty finder like to play solo (I don't: I use duty finder in hopes of finding a random nice and interesting stranger).
    2. People who group together get gimped on rewards (They're not: when you run in a group with friends, you're more efficient on average in terms of teamwork and will run faster).
    3. Most people who use duty finder are unfriendly (They're not: most people using duty finder just wants to make friends, are more than happy to forgive mistakes, and are just not too good at talking to other people).

Hmm well I usually consider the people in my FC Guild whatever as friends. Needing a reward to run a dungeon with them would be like me charging my buddy a fee to come over and drink with me, I mean were playing a game together not fixing his car or something.

Heres the jist of it. Ya wanna play with your friends in premade groups spamming dungeons for tomes or xp, thats fine. You just aren't going to get a bonus. The bonus is an incentive to get out of your comfort zone and help others. Some, like myself, spend a lot of time solo because of my playtime being opposite if most of my friends in my fc. Its a good thing the way it is.

    1. Not all of them but some do.
    2. They complete dungeons faster yes but they aren't getting the bonus roulette offers.
    3. Yes I know some of the people in DF are friendly, but only some, and some are complete jerks which is why I avoid it.

If I want to make friends I don't randomly run one dungeon with someone and never speak to them again.

This is an MMO, and everything that can be experienced, should be able to be experienced in party. Other MMO's offer daily rewards for random dungeon que's and do not limit a player to a solo experience in order to do so.

No, the reason for the bonus is to actually give players a reason to start running dungeons and other duty finder content again.
