I'm not a nine foot tall frost giant IRL, and I'm willing to bet good money that you aren't either.
Playing as one in a video game doesn't mean I'm attempting to pass myself off as a "nine foot tall frost giant queen" or anything.


It means that visually and thematically, that is the type of character that appealed to me. Same thing generally applies to people that play characters of opposite gender to their own IRL.


Avatar in a fantasy video game =/= reflection of idealized self/glimpse into the deepest desires of the player/surrogate for gender or body issues.

Avatar in a fantasy video game = looks frickin' sweet in that armor, let's roll.
