Classes vs jobs , are classes near obsolete now?

So what is the point of the class system? why not replace it with jobs then?

What do the PVP'er say concerning the "self nerf"? (really am interessted)
I would expect some pretty powerful specc's (as long as the iLvl 55+ gear isn't job based...)

Classes are, in my honest oppinion, a relic Tanaka has left here and Yoshi pseudo stays with. They where not balanceable! I loved tanking with my Puggie, or help a low lvl char doing leves wearing a chainmail, 'cause i had nothing other. But the compromiss was/ has had to be balance.

Classes = FFXIV 1.0
Job's = just another?
