Does it really matter how you decide to reach the end game goal? Twintania is still hard as hell despite if you have full ilvl90 gear or not and everyone still has to accomplish going through the raid to reach her. After looking at it for a while, I like that I actually have options besides raiding (which I do several nights a week) to obtain gear to take on a boss that does actually drop the best weapons in the game. After SE raised the ilvl of Allagan weapons, it has been more than enough influence to get into Coils and accomplish it. Who cares if obtaining armor to accomplish the task is done through purchasing gear or getting it through the raid. Options never hurt, especially if the end game goal is ultimately the same, which is to beat Twintania and obtain your Allagan weapon. Not to mention I love that I have multiple places to obtain ilvl90 weapons/accessories like Extreme Primals. As someone who has both AF2 and Allagan pieces, I welcome the best of both worlds with a hybrid of horizontal and vertical progression. I hope SE adds more features in the future.

As long as the top tier boss drops the best stuff, I am open to how SE approaches getting gear to accomplish the task.

Maybe they should have made CT i90... and made that the alternative armor. Not to say CT is hard...

My 8 year old can earn myth tomes.

Allagan Weapon is iLevel 95, Relic +1 is only iLevel 90. Also some Allagan Status is better then Myth Tomb depending on the class.

I'm really quite stumped here. You are complaining that Mythology armor is basically on par with Allagan armor, except that with the Coil your real reward for completing it is THE BEST WEAPONS IN THE FREAKING GAME (currently, and for quite some time).

Those weapons are your real reward for beating Coil. Not the armor. The armor's just kind of a very nice added bonus. But those weapons, those are what you show off to stroke your Epeen and place that "I'm better than you" stamp on everyone else's forehead that doesn't have one.

I would love to get Allagan weapons, but I won't be able to because I don't want to do Coil with pugs and can't go with a static for reasons already explained in previous posts.

Quit your whining already. It still takes time to obtain sets of armor with the Myth tome system; 1-2 weeks for 1 piece with the new cap increase. You have the possibility of getting multiple Allagan pieces in a week.

    11 slots, at average for 500 myth a piece, is 5500 myth (+900 relic1)
total 6400 myth needed. At 300 per week, thats 22 weeks or just over 5 months of capping every week. So, even if you bought the game and got to lvl 50 immediately in early access August, and capped every week, you still wouldn't have full 90

Also who said Coil was hard?

Also, Myth Gear is as good as Alagan Gear, but unique to specific Jobs. Getting the Myth Gear for Paladin is only useful for Paladin, while the Alagan tank gear can be used for both Paladin and Marauder. Granted, this doesn't count for Monk/Dragoon/Bard yet, but I'd expect that to change as more Jobs and classes get introduced in the future.

    14 weeks now btw.

it still doesnt answer the question of what these people relying on myths to gear because they wont go near anything harder than garuda intend to do with the gear. its simple, you cant beat ilvl90 content, you no get ilvl90 rewards. you can only beat ilvl55 content... you only get ilvl55 rewards. personally i think rewarding darklight in WP is a stretch, but given the way the game started, its whatever. but this type of serious gaps between level of content and level of rewards cant continue. its going to be hilarious when ilvl100 gear comes out and it cant be obtained with myths. i can taste the tears already.

in every other game, tokens come from content of equal level of the rewards. it makes absolutely no sense for ilvl55 dungeons to reward you with ilvl55, 70 AND 90 equipment simultaneously. just because its very convenient doesn't mean it isn't stupid. If it was never put in the game the way it is, no one would complain about it because its unreasonable to expect. And now that people got a taste of earning high end rewards for low end content, they are going to get alot of crap if they change it.

I said hardest, not hard. Coil Turn 2 was the most difficult part of the game for me so far, although Titan hm was pretty rough too.
    450myth a week now..

Honestly... Myth gear is completely fine the way it is... What isn't fine is how you acquire it. Myth tomes should have only dropped from content that also drops i90 gear.

With the system the way it is, it really feels more like welfare gear to keep the 'casuals' happy.

Hopefully they have learned from their mistake and make changes to i100+ gear.

Wait, what? I could easily beat coil with a group of people who know how to play their class and have decent gear, that's not the issue. The issue is that generally people require statics, and that typically, pug groups are full of retards that aren't dependable or coordinated enough to even beat Titan HM on their own. (not always true, but for the most part.. I think I'm right) Even if 2-3 out of the 8 are the stupid ones not playing their role right, then it's going to go very badly for the rest of the group. Even more so if their role is an important one like silencing, tanking or healing. Even dps need to know how/when to dodge correctly.

Unfortunately I can't commit to a static, and I'm sure there are many other people who can't commit to static groups for a variety of reasons due to RL situations.

Coil is not hard. People have beaten T1 and T2 just wearing AK gear and DL. That is hardly an i90 requirement. Perhaps T4 and T5 are considerably harder than the first two turns but they certainly don't require full i90 to complete, however like with all content the better geared you are the better you are going to do.

    Big question is:

    Does it matter?
Does it matter that someone got ilvl 90 a different way? Does it affect your ability to play the game? Does it stop you raiding coil? Or playing the game how YOU want to play? NO!

Does it make it easier to replace someone if someone leaves your static? Yes. So you dont have to go through the RNG to try and get them geared up for content if they already have from farming Myth.

Play the game how you want and calm your ego down. More options means more playstyles, means more players.
