Why is Myth gear as good as Allagan gear, or even better?

i dont quite understand the mindset of "i'll collect gear on easy mode so im ready for the next content" well.. that next content is coil 6-10 and harder the current apparent roadblock of 1-4 as well as more extreme mode primals. if you dont enjoy that type of battle, the most you'll get out of the game is running the basic dungeons like WP. and possibly CT because eventually it will be getting difficult as well

The bard in my group has been waiting three months for his bard helm or boots, I forget which one. When loot is determined by rng, why shouldn't there be a consistently obtainable alternative that still requires time and effort?

I'm using "time and effort" together as a phrase, since yes, there isn't a whole lot of effort really involved in getting your weekly myth. But the time part is definitely true, since it takes 1-2 weeks to get an item now (and before it was up to three weeks). I've adjusted my gear setup for my smn to avoid requiring any drops besides what I have now, and even with the increased weekly myth I'm going to need another four or five weeks to finish it off (four if I get lucky and the casting bracelet drops). For that kind of a time investment I'd hope that the gear I'm getting is at least comparable to allagan.

there should absolutely be a token system for those unlucky with the RNG, but it should absolutely not be found in ilvl55 dungeons. myths should never have been obtained outside of coil, at the very least, available from CT and extreme primals in small quantities.

You sure that is irony? You sure you know the definition of the word? Did you mean that SE's housing prices were ironic in light of SE's stated mission to provide a casual gaming experience in FFXIV? Because being astonished that SE delivers 'hardcore' housing prices in an otherwise casual built game is indeed the exact opposite of irony. Seems ironic to me that people use the term 'ironic' incorrectly while trying to express some kind of perceived intellectual superiority over others...

I got my first armor drop from Coil only a few weeks after Coil was release. I got my second drop from Coil a couple weeks ago despite running Coil every week. My Coil group was frustrated when we fought Twintania because I was too under geared to keep up with her damage despite wearing several pieces of AF2 gear and the one piece of Coil gear I'd gotten, and so unless you're one of those lucky few who gets a Coil drop every week, you'll find yourself needing AF2 fillers to keep up. I've gotten a grand total of two drops from Coil for my Whm despite running coil every week since its release so I can say without being biased that to have only one means of acquiring i90 gear, and to make that system based on RNG would be stupid.

this backs up what ive been saying. for people like you, coil should drop tokens to make up the difference. But the problem is when people can literally never leave WP and have more ilvl90 than people who run coil every week. its silly.
