I agree FFXIV is unique, even still with it's flaws. Glad to see some people enjoy the game.

I understand how many are upset with how the game released, and you have your right to voice your opinion... but so do the content customers. It amazes me how angry our world is, towards each other, over a video game. It's an opinion, it's neither right or wrong.

I, personally, enjoy the game as it is. I experience both the good and the bad, and with each update, it gets better each time. I don't want another XI. I played that for several years. XIV needed to be different, and it is. I feel once it's complete, it will be an enjoyable gaming experience.

Kudos to Kai and Red (and others) for posting 'your' positive opinion. Glad we are not silent all the time

Its true this game does not have what other MMOs on the market have, but it does have qualities that no other MMO out there has, I would hate to see FFXIV turned into "just another mmo" like xi was.
As it stands, FFXIV offers a unique experience, there is no mmo on the market that even comes close.
If you want a standard mmo experience like...group all the time, join a guild, power level to do "end game" antics and talk stupidities in world chat, then why not play a standard mmo? The market is literally flooded with them.
This game dares to be different and i respect that, sure its flawed, has many problems but its still the most unique mmo out there, i hope it stays that way, but im not holding my breath.
Would you pay to play it?

Yeah, I still enjoy myself every time I log on. I really hope it pulls through this dark period we have going on now, because I am done trying "flavor of the month" games, and prefer one like XIV, with some weird unexplainable longevity that can keep me interested.

There isn't a whole lot to do right now, or exciting things going on everyday, but logging in, to me, is akin to just waking up on a tuesday. It's routine and though there's nothing terribly exciting to look forward, I can still pull out some fun and enjoyment. And if I can have some kind of fun doing nothing in XIV, I can only imagine how I'll feel when there's stuff to do!

It is even more refreshing to see all the negativity going around. Showing that, no matter how much someone hates XIV or SE as a whole, they just can't put this game out of their mind and stop caring. They have us right where they want us it seems all our base, do belong to them

There is only 1 thing true between FFXI and FFXIV.

Its like going from something everyone liked to something most people hated.

This is like going from the Materia system that almost everyone loved in FF7 to the draw system everyone hated in FF8.

    @ geniusprime I would pay.

The only thing I dislike about this game is that the Devs are listening way too much to the people and making everything easy, getting to 50 takes no effort nowadays except DoLs. =/

I would pay to play as well. As I said the game isn't bad... it's improving and it needs more work but as long as they keep making it better I am happy.

I also agree with Shadow. It good to listen to the people who play the game because in the end we are the ones who are going to bring them the money, but I think they are listening a bit too much. To be honest I think the people giving their ideas on what the game should be are hurting it more than SE is, and SE is hurting the game by trying to please everyone. I hope they remember at some point that it's impossible to please everyone, and while opinions are good there is a point where they have to say 'we need to do what WE need to do to get this game done', stay on course and finish this game. Poor PS3 people, they need to come join us!

@Thainna: Thank you and +1, I agree with you as well!

If this was the case they would be charging for it now. I'm sure they appreciate you playing the game, and thats great that you enjoy it. But for the majority of the people its boring and not worth the time. Yeah you will be bringing them money, but likely not enough to profit. They need to listen to people who have left and what it would take for them to come back. Because no matter how much the current players say the game is good in its current state and just lacking content, its not going to bring people back. They have a lot of work to do to try to get past the name this game has already made for itself. They already made a huge mistake by making the game so easy and tedious that their core fanbase from ffxi just laughed and walked away.

Well, you can't deny that they're doing their best to fix the game.
Why would listen too much affect badly the game? Because most of the players that left the game (as I can see) were suggesting things that would turn FFXIV into "yet another same-styled MMORPG". And anyway, the Dev team will do what Yoshi-P will judge as good to be implemented, and I don't think that Yoshi-P does want "yet another same-styled MMORPG".

I just... would like to see what is in Yoshi-P's mind, and by doing that, I'm going to be a gamer. I'm gonna wait every single update of this game and when those pop up I will judge its content and talk about it with my gamer friends in a bar. That's how I spread infos.

Of course, I love this game at this state, and can't wait for more! I just want to... have a break from school because I didn't play A game for about a week! (besides Fire Emblem on the bus)

I never said the game is just lacking content, I know the game needs fixes. There are still glitches a bugs that need to be fixed. The battle system needs to be finished. Some sort of transportation needs to be put in place. The leves need to be expanded upon, due to the constant incoming of the same leves over and over etc etc. I am not blind to the problems, and I am not saying that the game is good. I said that it is a good base that I do enjoy but needs improving upon, I am in no way happy as a lamb but I would be willing to pay for it. I see that the improvements are a constant move forward and I would be willing to risk the money per month knowing that this game will probably end up in a good place, just as they did with FFXI when it first came out with its issues. We here in the US didn't get to see that because all of the major stuff was fixed when it hit US shores a year later.

I also said that it is good to listen to the people that are playing this game because they do give them a view they may not see, but SE needs to realize they can not put everyones ideas in and they can not please everyone. At some point they have to just DO something and just get it done.

By the way I did come from FFXI, 6 years... so not everyone laughs and walks away. Some support the game, while letting SE know of issues and trying to help them. I just choose to stay positive opposed to negative while remembering that the game needs fixes and support them along the way. I know some don't have the patience for that, but I do and I am fine with it. To be honest there is no MMO that is out there at the moment, not even FFXI, (since they ruined it and make it all easy mode) that I would rather play at this time.

    But that is my opinion.

Edit: Also... sorry just want to point this out. People who haven't been playing for a long time but want to give ideas how to fix the game... the ideas don't always work because they don't know they state of the game at the present time. I've seen people complain about the battle system then be told 'well thats being fixed now' and they didn't know that. I've seen people say 'MP comes back to slow', well you know there is auto regen for MP now right? I've seen people go 'it costs anima to return after death' You know they fixed that right?

This is why people need to play the game if they want to help fix it... so we don't get 50 posts of stuff that needs fixing just because the person doesn't know whats been fixed. Bless their hearts, I know they want to help... but to help they also need to stay up on top of whats recently happening. Also... all those examples are recent within the last few days... so no I'm not using old examples.

This is why I play... so I do know whats going on. If I have a problem I have the information to say the problem and I don't go over things that have already been fixed, or SE has said they are fixing.

I kind of like where this thread has gone, despite it's rocky start.

I can say without any hesitation that Kai knows what is going on in FFXIV. She's as active as anyone could ever want a person to be. Like most of us, she has an opinion and will gladly give it. Not a bad thing, but don't call her uninformed or anything similar because that would be far from the truth.

The game has yet to meet SE expectations, even though I know a lot of people that would pay to play in it's current state. Perhaps after the big battle system changes and content additions, more people will be sided on to that fence. The game is hardly perfect, but at this point I can honestly say I have played worse games that I paid good money for. Things have improved a lot more than people realize.
