    Monk TP in long fights.

So I hit ilvl 74 and decided to try Crystal Tower on Monk, normally i never have TP issues, as Invigorate is usually enough to keep me from running dry, but in CT on King Behemoth, I ran completely dry between every Meteor, even using Invigorate.

So I'm here on the forums to beg the advice of Monks better than myself, on how to avoid running out of TP on longer fights such as this one.

    Advice please, and thank you!

PS: my Skill Speed puts me at 1.99 recast for all skills with 3x GL running.

use invigorate once it hit TP 600-ish, so u'll let the skill cd starts early to use again when it comes?

I hit it at 550 - 500 so i don't waste any if Tp regen ticks over. And i do use it, a lot. It might just be that King Behemoth allows me more uptime than most other bosses.

Do you use Fracture? Use it less if you are TP starved.

As you play more you'll start to get a feel of when you will become TP starved, if you do, start dropping the DoTs out of your rotations, at least until the next Invigorate CD.

The only fights I really become TP starved on are Caduceus due to the ridiculous uptime and maybe Twintania if I don't get targeted by any Conflagrations.

    Good luck!

First of all, your Skill Speed is dangerously high for any kind of long fight. People generally consider Skill Speed to be useless for this very reason: Monk's claim of having excellent sustained DPS is destroyed if they run out of TP. After all, having amazing DPS because of Skill Speed is only wonderful until you run out.

As others have said above, you'll get an idea of which fights are most dangerous to your TP as you keep playing. In these cases, just concentrate on keeping GL3 up and use no TP cost skills outside of the stance rotation. Even if you're using fewer skills than usual, your DPS will be higher than if you're at the bottom of the gullet. Of course, these are invalidated if a Bard is nice enough to sing Army's Paeon

Another suggestion, if you feel that you're running out of TP too often, is to start shifting your gear away from Skill Speed and toward Crit and Det. Sure, you'll attack a little slower, but you'll hit a bit harder and use less TP.

    Totally agree with Donjo

I had a Skill Speed spec and even used skill speed food, thought it was amazing how fast I could move through combos...then would just stand there auto attacking while praying for 60 tp so I could use a skill.

Definitely check out a Determination / Crit spec to solve your TP issues.
