The economy is pretty much dead on Sargatanas.

Although it has been like this since well before patch 2.1, housing prices and other things from patch 2.1 didn't help much.

Gathering and crafting are simply too easy. I love the crafting system but it's possible to guarantee high quality results and nearly impossible to fail a synth. Find 4 close gathering nodes and they repop infinitely as you make the rounds. You can gather endlessly. The only thing limiting the supply of materials and items is the travel time and cooldowns of gathering and crafting abilities. The demand for any of these, however, is exceedingly low.

tl;dr: The economy on Sargatanas has been garbage for a long time and it was not caused by the cost of housing.

P.S. There were 1 small and 1 medium house up the last time I checked.

If the pricing is a result of people hoarding money in anticipation of buying FC housing, won't the problem be even worse with personal housing? They're going to see people holding onto large amounts of money and go "well having expensive FC housing didn't get the money circulating. Guess we'll have to make personal housing expensive, too." It's an asinine circle of us saving money for a thing, only to be penalized because we had the forethought to save up money beforehand instead of waiting until houses were available. The only way to break the cycle is to just wait it out at this point. IMO that does make it seem like a stalling tactic on SE's part.

Housing should be a key feature of the game that everyone can enjoy and participate in, not an end game money sink that only the very wealthiest and largest FCs can afford.

We don't actually know that was FC housing they were talking about. They did say in the talk about pricing that personal housing would be much cheaper than FC housing.

5 million is a lot to most. Maybe they'll make it in the range of 620 million. That'd be a lot cheaper than FC housing.
