If Dissidia is canon, and it unifies all the universes, then the "Squall's dead" theory is canon, and Sephiroth was thrown into the mako, and didn't "push himself off the sword." Also it was Jenova all along and he was 100% dead. Also Kingdom Hearts.

Regardless of whether or not Dissidia is canon, the Japanese version of FF8 has Gilgamesh asking about Bartz and the Interdimensional Rift when he appears in the Lunatic Pandora fight. He's the same person across every game.If Dissidia is canon, and it unifies all the universes, then the "Squall's dead" theory is canon, and Sephiroth was thrown into the mako, and didn't "push himself off the sword."
