Dungeon leaver penalty issues.

I logged on last night after work to do the roulette's quick and did the guildhest one fast enough but the dungeon one was a mess...

Got Stone Vigil, 1 of the DPS immediately left while the Tank was viewing the cutscene, DPS was replaced and Tank DC'd and after waiting for a reasonable amount of time the remainder of us left... only to get hit with a 30m penalty.

Are we suppose to sit in a dungeon waiting for a tank which could take anything between 1 - ?? min to find while the dungeon timer is ticking away and we cant do a thing while we wait ?
How are we suppose to leave 'properly' so we dont get punished ?

Well... before the patch, you could walk out the front door of the dungeon (rather than opening DF and clicking Leave) and not get the penalty, but I have no idea if they plugged this loophole or not.

You could have used vote dismiss to kick the DC'd tank. I believe the tank would have also been auto-kicked after 10 minutes.

So you are saying one member immediately left? Well, only the first member to leave gets the punishment, regardless of if they get replaced or anything after that. So once one member bails, you are free to leave in any way you wish without getting punished.

Edit: Oh nvm, you are saying you DID get the penalty. When, then that's just odd. No idea what happened there. :/

I can confirm this. Same type of situation and once the tank leaves a party, then it's dead party 9 times out of 10. I left the party and received the penalty. I need to try walking out the front door next time.

No, this is false. The first person to leave a FULL DF group gets the penalty. So if someone leaves right off the bat, they get the penalty. Say that person gets replaced and the group is full again? You'd get the penalty for leaving since the group is now full.

We kept wiping on a boss again and again. My armour started breaking so I left. Got 30 min punishment. Well FU df.

Vote kick. Did that with a HM Haukke group; Healer d/ced and we only had like 15 mins to try (again..) to beat the last boss. Vote kicked the healer before leaving and didn't get the penalty.

Fail party on first trash pack and tanks bails. So did the two bards. I walked out the entrance and no penalty for doing so. Queued up again.

You only incur penalty if you are the first to leave. If you have an AFK, initiate a vote kick and leave once they are booted. Or as somebody already stated: They will time out in ~10 minutes.
