An Open Letter to Yoshida-san: Please Slice One Zero Off the Housing Prices

I think Yoshi-P was talking about income from game content (quests, dungeons, etc.). Selling stuff on market boards is a little different. That's getting a part of someone else's 15-20k/day.

Also, the 20k was if you got the role bonuses from Duty Roulette. And I didn't see where he gave a time frame ("casual 2-3 hour day"). Was that in the original Japanese post? As for me, I think I'm getting less than 15k gil for more than 2-3 hours per day.

The 2-3 hours is based on his many previous interviews where he mentioned he wanted FFXIV to be casual for those who can only play 2-3 hours still have a chance to get what the whole game has to offer. Not specicially said on the housing post he made. Either way expecting all FC members to put in the entire earnings into the FC pool for the housing for 3 month is kinda silly too.

This is very disappointing to me...there should be no real need to have these prices set so high unless you just don't want many players to have housing yet....I think this is another time sink to let them "catch up" with what they are doing. If you they are not ready for something to come out they should just not put it out yet. All they keep saying is that there is not enough memory for stuff like FATE LOGS etc... yet that is nothing compared to how much housing memory would take up. So I think they do not have the infrastructure yet to handle a ton of people with houses.

Something like that would have gone over soooo much better. Sure we'd be a little disappointed, but we'd get over it quick knowing that they'd be working on it... Unlike this SOUL CRUSHING NIGHTMARE that they did to us.

The forums are not an entirely valid statistical pool. To go along with what the common trend that 'the non-vocals are also quitting', I have 5 RL friends, and none of them post on the forums. I'm willing to bet half of them don't even know the forums exist. To put it simply:

No player here, nor outside, probably know who the majority and who the minority are. But I know of a certain company who probably does....

How about this then:


If people saw nothing wrong with the housing prices, then more would be sold. You don't need 'people complaining on forums...or stats' People vote with their time and gil. If the gil isn't being spent on this content...then there must be a reason why.
And the only plausible reasons are:
1. People aren't interested in FC housing, and SE wasted time developing it
2. People think the prices are too high for what you get and are:
-Waiting for them to come down a bit and then bite
-Purposefully NOT buying them until SE fairly prices them (basically what's happening on Legacy Servers)
3. People really don't have enough money to buy a house/their desired house on their server.

So, you don't need forum complainers and neither does SE. SE can see that 1 week after this content has launched, on one of the Largest NA servers, only one Medium House has been sold...and THAT one only sold so they could be 'world first'. And that the same thing is happening across ALL legacy servers 0-3 houses bought across the whole entire world...

But yeah you're right. The majority of the players see nothing wrong with the pricing and are willing to lay down 10-20 Million for a house that wouldn't even fit my Wolf Pup...that's why so many houses are being built. Oh wait...

Or it could be simply that multiply small and somehow whealthy FCs disbandedd and their former members united in oe larger FC to be able to afford the FC house ...

The FC in question only has 52 members and has changed leaders twice whilst being created this month. My guess is the former leader was the Gil buying character which handed the cash over then was deleted after transferring leadership.. but that's my guess with no proof.

This is exactly what I said. The excuse that they weren't ready is fine. But not being honest they weren't ready and instead releasing something that is a slap to the face for many people who were looking forward to housing is just plain ludicrous.

Hmm - interresting - I've posted in the Happy Holidays thread mentioning the high housing prices and - guess what? It got instantly deleted. Yes - that's the way to deal with the issue - HIDE (from) it. Well done! At least we know now that all the reps didn't performed harakiri as they're all busy censoring forums instead.

(Yes - VERY "Happy" Holiday to all homeless FCs out there - thanks for nothing SE!) <- That was the post just in case you wonder what "offensive" stuff is getting deleted / censored here in forums. And - in case you'll not hear from me for 10 - 12 days I've got baned (again) as well. Good stuff!

Oh - and one more thing - I've shouted on my server in Mor Dhona about high FC housing prices and ask people unhappy about that to come here to forums and let SE know. Indeed - first almost instant reply was in terms "working towards the content" - how sad

I've been following this thread for a while now, and I too am incredibly crushed by these prices. The question that I would like to see answered is: How could it negatively impact SE if 80% of the FCs out there COULD afford housing? Start building communities, spending time gathering and crafting together. Why the wait? I agree with past comments; gathering gil is not a skill, it is merely time consuming. I am proud of my Company's ability to save and donate 10M gil since 2.0 launched, but we weren't told housing wouldn't be accessible to 99% of the community day one. I understand that you're upset about housing prices. I am, too. But I wonder that you can't see why your post was deleted? It was very accusatory and inflammatory in a thread that was nothing more than the Community Reps wishing us all a Merry Christmas and letting us know that they will be out of the office until after Christmas. I don't think there was any need to post something negative or mean in that thread, no matter how upset we are about the housing situation, and especially considering that Community Reps have absolutely no control over the housing prices. It's important to remember that this is a game, but there are real people behind the forum posters - including the Community Reps.
