Unfortunately they use to do Producers Letters every two week too, over 5 days late on that one with no even vague "It's coming" message. It's odd, things seem to be slowing down instead of speeding up. I was hoping maybe we'd get a big content showing letter on E3 week, not at E3 mind you, just a big letter to coincide with a lot of other big game news. It's a bit of a missed oppurtunity to not try and get people here excited when basically every other game out there uses this week to generate hype.

Slowing down could mean they are hard at work which is a good thing, but I agree with the fact they should update us at least weekly on whats going on behind the scenes.Unfortunately they use to do Producers Letters every two week too, over 5 days late on that one with no even vague "It's coming" message. That's the balance I struggle with, I want to know more, when, how long, quests, jobs... etc... ahhh!
But you are right, I'd rather them focus on the game then spend time making pretty updates about things that would have come sooner, but we had to take screen shots.
And at the same time, having no news makes the excitement die down, as well as my enthusiasm for playing the game. It's a catch 22 really, damned if you do, damned if you don't.
Still, I'm really surprised we haven't heard anything at E3 or if not there on the lonestone thus far, if we don't hear anything this week will be because we are distracted with E3 and they are saving it for next week, however, that is still a long time to go between news updates.

No news is good news, so it is said, but i am really hoping for some news too either tomorrow or Friday. I sure hope it comes before the weekend! *accesses guardian favor*

You post as if SE is just one guy sitting in a dark room coding... It's a company. It has many employees. Work doesn't stop if someone post information on the forum or takes a crap for that matter.
It's perfectly reasonable, given the dedication of the few remaining players, to ask or even demand information. Even if its "check back in two weeks."

Not really... It was quite large in size, and the letter says it's more hotfix then anything else. So it's more of a prep patch for 1.18 along with another targeting option.
Letter updates have (so far) always been underwhelming even if you expect almost nothing from them, but the size of the file, to me, says that they are loading in assets so 1.18 won't be 2GB in size.
With 1.17, a, and then b being around 300+MB in size each, that's around 900MB to 1GB in size. Now, if 1.18 is another 300MB+ file we are talking about 1.2GB - 1.3GB of data in the past month. That's a lot of data, and that's assuming 1.18 is that size it could be larger.
Anyway, each patch, no matter how small, brings us closer.![]()

yes it was fairly large in size, but that was not needed. It wasn't a "prep-patch" or anything like that. No new .dats were implemented. No .dats were changed (aside from what was listed in the letter). The patch was a waste. Each of these 300MB updates is just a copy of the previous, save for a few changes. Nothing major has changed in any of those. Not really... It was quite large in size, and the letter says it's more hotfix then anything else. Healer strike is ridiculously foolish and accomplishes nothing

I can't believe they took the time out of their days for that BS effing Q&A for gathering. They literally gathered out questions and didn't answer any of our questions. They should of just scrapped that and put some effort into our lodestone page. I dont care if its different teams lol, i guess i'm just disappointed in the Q&A lol
Ya it has already been shown and proven by many threads and people that unfortunately we are Dling multiple copy files. Each letter patch contains the info of the ones before it and we are just redling data we already have. The pre patch speculation needs to end. If you do a clean install and update you will notice that your file size for the game will be considerably smaller then those who have been patching since release. It is a very odd way to do things but unfortunately that is what it is.yes it was fairly large in size, but that was not needed. It wasn't a "prep-patch" or anything like that.
