    Thrill of Battle

    I have been manually using this so far but it seems like I don't use it maybe as often as I should.

    I was thinking it just tying this into my Heavy Swing so that it will just trigger on cooldown. Any reason not to do it like that?

    So far I have been using it as either a pre fight buff or mid fight when no other cooldown were left I would pop Thrill and Second wind as just something to pop.

    You want to pop it right before big hits.

    That sounds like a terrible idea... Why would you want it on CD 100% of the time?

    basically what the guy above me said. Use it to mitigate damage with the free hp.

    personally, I kind of use it in a reactionary situation for the most part.. if I take a big hit ill pop it basically for the ~1500 point heal along with convalescence if it was a big enough hit to help the healers help me. ill use increase defense/DR cooldowns before hits I know are coming.

    well that is how i have been using it so I guess i'll keep using it that way.

    it is not "lost" by using it when you are full hp btw you still gain that much hp to your max health pool.

    Well, it's only +hp so it doesn't really *mitigate* anything. It'll help you survive a big hit, but it's not going to reduce the amount of damage you take (which is one of the reasons why it's actually the weakest tank CD in the game). The two uses I've found for it have been as a self heal (it heals more than Second Wind because it's based off of max hp instead of attack power) and as a burst survival ability that helps you survive but doesn't really lower healing requirements (you have to pair it with Conv to actually get the same benefit as straight DR).

    SCH in your pt?
    /ac "Thrill of Battle" <me>
    /p {Thrill of Battle}{Just used it.}{Toss}{Lustrate}

    Your SCH healing throughput just increased a good chunk.

    WHM in your pt?
    /ac "Thrill of Battle" <me>
    /p {Thrill of Battle}{Just used it.}{Toss}{Stoneskin}

    Your Stoneskin will be a good chunk larger now.

    Personally I like to use it after eating a hit, the heal helps, and the larger hp pool means better Lustrates and less overcure waste from WHMs. I wouldn't keep it on CD though, it's more useful in a reactive state imo.

    You're arguing over my wording? ToB increases our max hp and heals the amount of increase. Meaning we get X hp for free for a period of time. So if you know you're going to take damage then pop ToB to essentially get a few thousand "free" hp and use them to absorb a chunk of the incoming hit. When ToB ends you lose the hp increase but not the free hp as its already gone. It functions just like mitigation.

    I will always recommend against macroing two skills together just for the sake of convenience. ESPECIALLY a skill that is THIS valuable to your own survival. I'd hate for ToB to be unavailable when I need it, just because I wanted to be lazy and make a macro that automatically blows it on cooldown.

    Learn to use ALL of your skills at the appropriate times and don't rely on shortcuts like these to compensate for your shortcomings.

    I don't claim to be a mechanically perfect Warrior, but I'm always working on it. Better cooldown management is a huge part of it.
