An Open Letter to Yoshida-san: Please Slice One Zero Off the Housing Prices

My FC was really looking forward to working together on making a nice house to hang out in. Since the patch (and really since prices were released), I have seen a decline in logins for my FC. They achieved the worst possible scenario with this, making paying customers lose motivation to even bother logging in, or stop paying altogether. No one in their right mind wants to farm a hundred million gil together or collectively for housing, just to start trying to build a house.

Edit: These prices need fixing fast, I doubt many people will want to wait around for 6 months to see if SE gets their heads out of the sand.

After 136 pages of thread (and an even bigger one on the Japanese forums) you'd think someone at Square Enix would have noticed that maybe, just maybe, their pricing system and proposed changes aren't sitting well with a large part of the gaming population.

Do come back when you have a way to demonstrate that we're "the minority," please and thank you, because basic statistics say that's unlikely.

A lot of developer put a lot of thought in their features, and then those features are changed when they impact with the reality of a game's community.

Because none of the house plot was bought on Masamune, the undisputed most populated server since 1.0, is the proof of minority.

Putting a lot of wrong thought into it, is still wrong.

Thankfully the people defending this pricing decision are the actual minority. I agree though, I don't have much faith they'll do anything about it, at least not until 2.15 in January like they've already said.

tonberry server, i see one small house in gridania and one medium house. other plots are empty.
limsa, there is one large house and one medium i think. havent checked uldah. regardless. goes to show that the prices are just stupid that no one is buying anything right now. oh and the small house? ugh. its really small. it might fit a 4 man fc, any more and it would be wayy to crowded. but for 8 million? i dont think that many 4 man fc's can afford it :3

I think its a reasonable price. There is a 90 day discount to make a goal to save enough money. If you don't earn enough money, then you can save for another 90 days. I personally don't like a game that it is easy to get/achieve EVERYTHING; the game would be boring in that case. That is my two cents; as you don't care what I say, I don't care what you have to say. Easy to get? It makes no sense that its easy to get to 50, easy to get a relic, and yet its a 90 day grind for an entire FC for a plot of land. Not the house, not the decorations, the plot of land. Also, that 90 day goal isn't so cut and dry. A Free Company can save for the entire 3 months, go to buy the house, and see someone bought the same size plot in the ward they want. What does that mean? Saving for another 3 months because the price of the plots has reset.
