    Transmog really sucks, and in my MMO experience, it is usually just a cheap method of forcing people to spend cash shop currency on Transmog stones.

    this game has no cash shop, and therefore should go with a regular slot system like most sub MMOs have.

    Fixed.

    Before WoW started making head gear and selling it on their online store, you had a great incentive to do older content and stuff like challenge modes that gave you cool-looking gear.

    Not to mention appearance is what can get some of us to play stuff we normally would not play. Transmog was the sole reason I ended up rolling a mage in WoW when I discovered I could ditch the robes and dresses for a modest set of pants and a vest.

    * The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.

    you get the same benefit with Cosmetic Slots though.

    Having played Rift for a time I definitely think that XIV would be better off with a system similar to Rift's. It worked really well for the game and it's design. Transmog from WoW wouldn't be bad either, honestly if they would keep the gil cost reasonable.

    If they did something like in WKC2 where the ring accessory basically was your vanity. I had full bis tank gear but all I had to do was swap out 1 ring and I'm walking around in a bathing suit. We do have two ring slots, I'm just saying.

    The flower opens in combat stance and makes a ringing sound whenever it opens or closes. I'm even using it over Thyrus for content I don't particularly care about - which is everything but BC.

    I'm hoping the vanity system will support weapons but like many of the other posters here I to am worried that the vanity system will be overly complicated and pointlessly restrictive.

    It has already been confirmed vanity will be disabled in PvP.

    And what's the point? All the major gear based PvP traits are stored in materia. Also being able to see true gear would only be relevant to 3 of the 11 armor slots: chest, feet, and hands. Helmets can be hidden. 90% Pants are too generic to identify in battle and often hidden under robes/armor. Everything else doesn't show on the player. So why is this stupid lockout needed again? Anyone really going to have a radical change of their strategy based on being able to visually confirm 3/11 of an opponent's gear on the fly?
