I understand that game economies have a lot to be desired but every single mmo forum has at least 1 "developers need to hire an economist" thread. They're games designers first, economists second. Also not to mention that the majority of an economy is made by the players themselves. It's a game so people simply don't care about undercutting, which is fine because the costs of undercutting are all virtual. Yes SE are making items easy to get, but at the same time do you really think making them hard to get will magically fix an economy? It's a lot harder in practice than it is in theory, even in a virtual world, in fact even more so in a virtual world.
