On Excalibur the most expensive plot of land is 312.5M, this price is before any reduction over time. Haukke manor sits on a much larger plot of land with a very large house with a lot of very nice furniture and even "pets."
Just how wealthy would the Haukke family have to be to purchase all of that? Do you think any of the gil was RMT'd?

Well, not much now. The Soul market kinda crashed lately. Too many ppl selling their souls for Gil to buy land or Gain brownie points for the Random Gods so they get their loot, due to the lock outs.

The market is filled with Lalafell souls now that you get buy a dozen for 6 gil.

Miqo'te Pelts on the other hand sky rocketed due to demand for those Highland snow gear. Uh.. you wanna get rich real fast?

2) Ul'dah, Pillow houses? Gambling dens? Minerals and ores? Well, you probably be drown in pool of Chocobo pee by a dozen Lalafell Assassins if you got anywhere near a profit.

I was referring more towards costs after the initial plot of land, such as construction, furniture, ect. that would come later. The number was just a lame programming joke - its the maximum value an unsigned 32-bit integer can hold.
