    Gaming mouse

So, I have a gaming mouse that has the buttons on the side (where the thumb is) and I, for the life of me, cannot map out those buttons. I go into the UI, go into the targeting section, and when I click on "Target nearest enemy" I cannot map the buttons. It allows me to map to the dang keyboard, but not to my mouse. I have used the mouse with other MMOS (Rift) that operate the way I need it to. But cannot get this to work here. Any advice or solutions I may be overlooking? Thanks

What type of mouse is it?

At least for my naga razer you have to bind them through the naga interface, not through ffxiv.

Yea usually you have to use your mouse's program to set the buttons to act as a keyboard key, then map things to that key.

Ahh ok. I'll give it a try. I'm at work right now, so I don't know what kind of gaming mouse it is. So I just need to go into the mouse settings and change it in there in order for the game to recognize that its part of the keyboard? Ok, thanks.

ya, most gaming mice have their own software you install that opens up an interface for keybinds. If you don't have the program, just google the mouse driver and you should find it.
