only 92 million more to go and my beach front property paradise (miqo with leaf fan included) is all mine!!!!
it could be 9.2 and it would still never happen!
the inequality is terrible, the cheapest prices from the new servers are about all thats affordable even for the highest priced servers.

My bad, the first link was to a specific thread. Here is the forum link.http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/forums/1020-Housing

I'm more than happy to continue the discussion on both forums. SE's decision on this matter causes more problems than just the price tag. It fosters division between server populations and mistrust among the community.

I've mentioned this before, the scaling of houses is far out of line with the number of members it takes to grind the gil to purchase one, this is not a small issue. Questions have been raised elsewhere about just what benefits, (workshops, crafting stations, etc.), different sized houses will be able to use.
Again this is not a small issue, the predominant subject at the moment is price, for the original ballpark chart estimates of 625mil for large plots on legacy servers, the number of people (assuming they don't belong to the 100 millions club) it will take to grind all this gil simply will "not" fit on even a large lot without looking like a shelter for the homeless.
For 200 million and the number of members that will probably utilize that lot that kind of gil should get them a plot the size of an "entire ward", inb4 someone says this isn't sims3.
Doesn't matter the scaling is way off.

I think 157k views on this thread is an answer to all the "who cares?" posts.
I am sorry, but after seeing the prices for housing in Sargatanas, several of my FC members don't want to play anymore, some are talking about transferring to another server, where housing prices are more attainable, and some have just lost their luster for the game. You say in 3 months the prices will be half. What if in 3 months so is my FC? I don't have a lot of members and less active members. I just don't understand how (even with your research) you can assume that most FC's will be able to afford it in 3 months, have you looked into how many new players have joined certain servers, how many players have left certain servers, how much gil is spent on repairs, teleporting, hiring choco's? Please look again. A lot have left, and fewer have joined. Prices just don't seem very reasonable.

I think we all know that this feature wasn't ready to be supported, so it was rolled out in a way that few people could use it so as not to overload the non-existent resources.
People can complain all they want, but sadly nothing is going to change. The feature isn't ready and won't be supported for a couple more months. They had to say they "met" their goals, now they can say that- regardless of the user experience.
In the meantime, ignore SEs dishonesty, and please look forward to it!

No. Not this time. I would like them to know that using 1.0 players as an excuse into adding fake difficulty measures is something that should not be acceptable, much less repeated for personal housing.
There is no bus big enough to throw us under.

Of course it isn't. It isn't acceptable to use legacy as a scapegoat. It isn't acceptable to mislead current players on pricing. It isn't acceptable to "implement" a feature without it realistically being attainable. It isn't acceptable to mislead potential new players by touting a feature that is not really reasonably attainable.
They might have met some arbitrary metric, but at a great cost to credibility, imo.
